True. However, this is but one example of the limits of labels when discussing political philosophies.

Classically liberal is almost as meaningless a term as "doog" in that the "liberal" part has been co-opted. I think you're better off with "libertarian" ... at least we know what that's supposed to mean.

On the other side of the isle, my Republican heroes have committed the hubris of encouraging big government for all kinds of their own reasons. Certainly they don't advocate expansion of the welfare state, unless, like me, you count the military, because it does, after all, provide an employment outlet for our worst and dumbest. But they do seem to not mind the guvment regulating where you can put your cock, whether you can employ a vacuum cleaner to take care of a little mistake, and whether schools should have to teach mysticism as a core subject along side evolution, among other things. Apparently, the government should be regulating all manner of behavior, as it turns out. I don't know what makes them conservative any more, and I'm not sure I can even articulate what that term means.
there's a term, it just escapes me for some reason

also, there are some smart people in the military

The contemporary common political conception of progressivism in the culture of the Western world emerged from the vast social changes brought about by industrialization in the Western world in the late 19th century, particularly out of the view that progress was being stifled by vast economic inequality between the rich and the poor; minimally regulated laissez-faire capitalism with monopolistic corporations; and intense and often violent conflict between workers and capitalists, thus claiming that measures were needed to address these problems.

As Uncle Teddy said: "...wise progressivism and wise conservatism go hand in hand."
    Whos shit did you plagerism?

    Explain.
The Western socialist left detests the United States and its capitalist economic system, and seeks to facilitate that systems downfall by any means necessary -- including the formation of whatever alliances will further that ultimate objective.

    Explain.
Radical Islam aims to impose their religion on the rest of the world in a totalitarian fashion requiring unwavering obedience. Radical leftists strive to create an omnipotent socialist state that will control every aspect of daily life and will impose a universal brand of "social justice" on all mankind.

I think you're thinking about people who were young enough to give a shit about anything, like, 70 years ago.

I don't think there is a coherent "hate" of capitalism any more than there is a collective fear of communism, the latter of which died with my generation, the children of the cold war era, becoming too old to give a shit anymore.

Still waiting for your rudderless ass to give us your vision of Progressivism and how it will be beneficial to America sans what the Occupy Democrats Facebook page tells you to post.

Something tells me I won't live that long.

Nice change of pace to have a president who talks about terrorists like they are the enemy.... And then turns around and sells $100 billion dollars of weapons to the #1 state sponsor of terrorism. My support for Trump is eroding quickly.
