Syracuse, N.Y. -- Syracuse University assistant coach Mike Hopkins is taking over as the head coach at the University of Washington, according to several media reports.
Hopkins, a former Syracuse player and longtime assistant to SU coach Jim Boeheim, had been expected to succeed Boeheim after the 2017-18 season.
Hopkins will replace Lorenzo Romar, the former Washington head coach who was fired last week. -
This. He coached under Boeheim for 20 years, but he probably would have a head coaching job already if he was any good. This is underwhelming at best.whlinder said:Who?

Doesn't make my heart sing but it's not bad. If he can bring some east coast toughness, length and anything remotely looking like Syracuse, it's better than a hole in the head.
