I think porter jr would almost have to stay. It would be very hard for a team to take him on plus pay his dad without a lot of scrutiny. UW still has the ability to pay his dad and claim he's been on the staff. Very few staffs are looking for a 400k a year 1st assistant who is part of a 9-20 team.dnc said:

They gave Pops a two year contract. Other schools would try to hire him though if Porter was released. This idea of worrying about what the other Porter kids do is FS ...
If Porter Sr isn't on the next staff, Porter Jr either goes where his dad goes if given his release, plays internationally and never shows up at UW, or plays at UW anyway. Any of his kids after the fact will either go play where pops is or do their own thing ... very little chance any of them play at UW.
You don't make these decisions based on what one recruit or assistant will do. The Seattle AAU scene will likely throw a short-term fit anyway when Romar leaves so you are likely looking at a lengthy rebuild anyway as the entire roster/culture needs to be turned over. If a strong coach is hired, his first job needs to be to build up a culture at the youth level that works going forward and not the bullshit that we currently see at the Seattle HS level that basically looks like your standard pickup run at Green Lake with officials and uniforms.
This thing is a massive mess made worse by allowing shit to continue way longer than it ever should have. -
