Sports Illustrated ranks UW class #20

This. There are so many guys from Sark's classes that wouldn't come close to getting an offer from Petersen.CokeGreaterThanPepsi said:disagree, this class is full of really good players. It's just that we missed on some key guys (especially on OL). And now with the loss of Tui it seems worse. Reality is that this is still one of the best classes coming in that we've had in a LONG time.
Sark's classes were so top heavy. He took a ton of marginal guys and some risks every year. BBK will never be great, but he can play. He's undersized but can play. Garrett Gilliland was undersized and plain sucked. That's a difference that comes to mind.
The guys considered risks under Petersen actually have traits and/or skills to be excited about. Guys like Burleson and Gaye (not really a risk to me, but he was a late offer.) Sark took guys like Taylor Hindy and Atoe.
TL, DR: Petersen actually evaluates the whole class. Sark was fixated on the top guys and three out offers to lower ranked guys because another PAC 10 school offered. -
LIPO you stupid fucks

Fuck the recruiting sites. Look at all the people who rate these players, what a fucking joke. If I need an opinion on good nachos or a fine wine I know who to go to. But for football fuck that.
Also how the hell does more recruits equal higher class. Dumbest standard for measuring how good a class is. -
It's a really good class. Probably the best I've seen since I started paying attention to the TBS shit. But it has two glaring weaknesses... Firstly, for the third straight year, we shit the bed in terms of OL talent & numbers. And secondly, we lost the best recruit in the class, and didn't have any viable backup plan.
If we'd held onto Tuipolotu and gotten one of Sarrell/Vera-Tucker/Davis it would've been an amazing class. -
Take this shit to the Sandusky Memorial Bored.

Executive summary of this dreck denial thread: we thought UW was speshul again, but even after bending over for Bama on national television, still nobody gives a fuck about our progrum.

UW gets a top 20-50 class every year. When those players are coached by the right coach, UW tends to win conference championship and shit. Hope this helps.creepycoug said:Executive summary of this dreck denial thread: we thought UW was speshul again, but even after bending over for Bama on national television, still nobody gives a fuck about our progrum.

Traditionally UW doesn't close particularly well ... it's an area for improvement but to say that this class on the whole is a let down is insanely FS ... thankfully there was a good year for OL on the West Coast and we were able to get a very good passable class here ... but this is an EXCELLENT class on the whole.chuck said:#20 is fine as a rule but is a bit of a letdown for this year. Momentum a few months ago pointed toward a possible top 10 rating. It really fizzled and they didn't close on any big name guys who were deciding late.

Because the Pac12 was weak this year, and when playing on the large, national stage, WA broke down and choked. UW is close to elite, but not elite. And USC was better when it counted. They finished with a win and UW didn't. Trends matter.BearsWiin said:
Massive. If Washington is BACK!, why aren't the top recruits flocking?GrundleStiltzkin said:20th is a disappointment.
That's why. -

That's all that needs to be said. -
Saying that saying the class on the whole is a letdown is insanely FS is insanely FS if you're addressing me because I didn't say that. Keep things in perspective if you can.Tequilla said:

#20 is fine as a rule for UW. That I said.
#20 is a bit of a letdown this year, however, because it once looked like *we were going to finish much higher than that. The letdown is the final ranking and that is so only because it didn't meet the expectations built by the momentum of the program this past fall. -
20 is bullshit because it's based on class size.chuck said:

Per Scout, this is the #15 class by average stars. Considering Pete's never going to be a guy who looks at a kids stars and recruits them based on it, I'm perfectly happy with 15 this year.
If we're only at 15 next year I'll be disappointed, because one year's success most closely correlates to the following year's class. #RecruitingLag #PutBoobsInCharge -
#15 is solid and i think we all agree that is a better measure.dnc said:

I thought that, with the way things were looking a couple of months ago, we might have a couple of 5* guys to finish the class and (I assume), be in the top 10. Not a real big deal unless you're going for the off-season batty but what else do we have right now? -
