Welcome to the Hardcore Husky Forums. Folks who are well-known in Cyberland and not that dumb.

First game at UW

Hey guys,

Every fall I travel around the country and attend football games at different colleges. I have been to about 20 and have a goal of some day going to every D1 stadium for a game. Next season I am going to attend a game at UW and wanted to know if you have any traditions I should know about, anything on campus I should see, or anything notable? I am aware of your unique tradition of boat tailgating and was wondering what is the best way to experience it?

Schools I have been to for games include - Wisconsin, Northwestern, Minnesota, Purdue, Georgia, Appalachian State, Boston College, Wyoming, Iowa, Nebraska, Michigan, Alabama, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Stanford, Louisville and I am sure I am forgetting a few others.

Thank you for any advice you can give!

The RAM restaurant and brewery offers a 19.95 ribs and rickshaw special. An entire plate of ribs and a ride to the stadium for that price. Great deal

    I can vouch for this.

I recommend talking to @thechatch as concierge of UW football.

Not sure why I am getting so many negative responses, was just looking for advice on campus and game day. Best of luck in the playoffs.

I was going to go to the asu uw game but after the mean responses to a similar thread I decided not to.

Actually I just got drunk and missed the flight.

You should hang out with @TommySQC

When you go to Oregon and Baylor make sure you wear butt protection and have a battle buddy for the porking lot. I would avoid night games there at all costs. Also don't take kids to Penn St and make sure when you go to Pullman for WSU you wear a rain coat to deflect incoming vomit. Also be careful of Kansas, when you walk on campus on property they try to recruit you onto the football team, it doesn't matter your age. When you go to Miami people love it when you tell them how much their stadium looks like it should belong in the NFL and people love pregame banter at Texas Tech about their great 10-2 team and how they took people to the woodshed that year. Make sure you show up early for BYU tailgating or you won't get a porking spot, alcohol there is also flowing like a river so don't bring your own as plenty will be provided. Wear a Jarvis Varnado basketball jersey to Mississippi State games and a USC jersey to Iowa St. Speaking of USC make sure to wear ear protection so you don't have to hear the band, you might end up in a psych ward and won't be able to travel to Indiana where it's tradition to watch The Hoosiers on VHS at least once per tailgate with sound at full blast.. and just a tip they play a drinking game where every time someone says Hoosier everyone takes a shot of Bacardi and every time someone scores a basket you yell "Go Hoosiers!" requiring everyone to take another shot, everyone will just get the giggles. Finally, Duke has a football team so don't forget them, I know right? I just found out they had one yesterday and I've been a college football fan for over twenteen years. Don't be a stranger and come stop by a Gonzaga football game and say hello! I'll buy you a beer.

Jarvis Verando hahahahahaa that fat ass.

First off, welcome to our message boards. You're entering lively forums centered around college football. We've created a place where people can relax and say what's on their mind without being banned and deleted. While we began as Washington-centric, fans from other football programs spend time here and are welcome.

The majority of posters are passionate (and some are quite eccentric) and that will show in the banter. One military member calls this place his "Internet Romper Room" and that's an apt description. The best advice is to lurk awhile and get acclimated to the environment before posting. Given a little time, you'll "get it" and really come to enjoy this place. Before you know it, you might become a regular too.

    The Hardcore Husky Rules:

    1. No calls for genocide, etc.
    2. No posting of pornographic images or implied sex acts
    3. No posting of people's personal Facebook photos and private information. That's flat-out creepy.
    4. No posting of premium content from other sites
    5. No pretending to be someone you're not (the head coach accounts I've let slide because everyone knows Sonny Dykes isn't really posting here while Cal is playing its games.)

We also produce original content for you to enjoy. I write a weekly article that comes out every Sunday night. A handful of other dedicated posters write articles during the football season as well.

I hope you enjoy your time here.

I recommend coming out for one of our top notch non conference opponents next year.

We used to have an expert about giving out sage advice to visiting fans. His name was @MikeDamone but he dead now.

Stick around for a bit to catch a uw basketball game. Amazing atmosphere in there most nights. LoRo has the boys poised and ready for a deep March run next year.

Because we are fucking assholes who like to mercilessly hammer new fish to bring joy to our otherwise shit stained lives. If you had read this bored for more than 10 minutes before your post this would have been clear to you. Wait, is this fucking Harv?

Also, the best way to sailgate is on an inner tube.
Fuck the inner tube. Best way to sailgate is with @Swaye commandeering your ride. Oh and bring your spare liver.

Welcome to the board and Fuck Off!

Why the fuck would you want to go sailgating? If the husky fans you meet are anything like the idiots on this board you're going to have a miserable time. @Swaye will probably even try to drown you.
