Doogs hate winning.

dominated? I must have been watching a different game than you were.
They were average -
Aside from John Ross every part of the team was dominated tonight. There's not a single unit that can be proud of how it played. Yep, the OL sucked. So did everyone else.Tequilla said:How was that OL for you tonight???

Strausser, Hamdan, Smith, Kwat, Lake, Paopao, Kwat, Bonerpopper, whoever the other assistants are, all their units sucked. -
SHUT THE PROGRAM DOWN WE ARE A FUCKING WOMEN'S BASKETBALL SCHOOL ANYWAYS
-
now, dominated is what our DL and passrusher were.
Browning was also terrible. a lot of the pressure was on him dancing around and holding the ball too long -
3.1 yards per carry by the DL in the run game was fine ...dnc said:

And I'm not going to excuse other individuals ... but the OL got absolutely whipped tonight ... but fair to say that when they did have time to throw, nobody was open ... partly because the OL was too soft to open up ANYTHING in the run game -
Yards per carry is a stupid stat. When SC needed to move the chains in the run game they did. The DL didn't get nearly enough rush.Tequilla said:

Not a good game by our DL. I imagine they'd be the first to tell you they're not proud of their performance tonight. -
I think the DL had 1 sack tonight if I remember right in my haze right now ... they didn't have a great night (rushing the passer) but fit the run game quite well ... the problem is that they got misdirectioned a bunch and abused with the crossing game ...dnc said:

What were the odds if I gave you JJSS as SC's 4th leading receiver tonight?
And YPC isn't a stupid stat ... particularly if you aren't getting sacks ...
What's more important tonight probably wasn't the YPC number, but that SC ran it 9 more times than we did -

The interior of our D Line played very good. The problem is on the edge.
The interior of our D Line gets push up the middle and shuts down the running game inside. None of our DT's are push rushing tackles. They are all more run stopping DT's that eat the double team. The problem is that once Mathis went down we have no one on the team who brings pressure from the edge consistently. As a result the QB has time to throw. If we bring pressure from the outside they have no time to throw because they cannot step up in the pocket (the easiest way to avoid outside pressure).
Just win out and we are in the Rose Bowl. Maybe with a couple breaks we sneak back into the number four spot and we can watch Bama just destroy us. -
When we tried the side to side runs we stunk. We ran well (but not often) enough between the tackles. Gaskin could have had a 30 carry 105 of the toughest yards he would ever see type night, but we got behind and Smith went back to the pass first option. The diff. tonight was SC had 42/45 as defensive ends and we have a bunch of jags who can't get pressure giving Darnald all day to find someone wide open in the middle of the field.
-
I guess I watched a different game. OL didn't look like it got dominated to me. It got pushed around a bit, and creases were there for running...pass pro was a bit rougher...but Brownsocks sacked himself twice and fell down into the D two other times. They can't protect forever.
-
The OL was one of many position groups that had a range of play from pretty bad to shitty.
-
Browning sucks
-
Agree. But USC's talent had a shit loadRoadDawg55 said:The OL was one of many position groups that had a range of play from pretty bad to shitty.
to do with that. Credit to them for having
a better cut of beef. Thought we had a coaching
staff that would deal with the talent disparity
better. Not good game plans from either coordinator. -
Agree with both Whuggy and ChoadDawg...
SC looked really athletic, and never seemed to get rattled by the crowd. You have to give them credit. They may have actually stumbled into a pretty good situation with Helton.
Browning was pretty awful. It was hard to watch him literally sack himself on three separate occasions... and his deep ball was way the the fuck off.
But the OL did nothing to help Browning's cause. They were bad last night. Brostek was being thrown around like a ragdoll, and the pocket was collapsing really quickly.
I'm not as bullish on the OL and Strausser as most seem to be around here. I think SC's size and athleticism exposed our? line a bit last night. It's the kind of defensive front we? would face against Bama, Ohio State, or Michigan, and they didn't look ready for it.
That said, neither Browning or the OL were helped out by the play calling... which at times was really fucking bad.
And, since this is the tean buoy stocking bored... Sign some fucking offensive lineman!!!! -
PM to Tequilla
How fucking old are you?
Stop getting your feelings hurt by people not agreeing with you.
Right now you're acting like the kid who gets picked last at recess and never gets the ball passed to him but scores one basket and talks shit. The O Line sucked last night for the first time all year.
So did the linebackers
So did the DBs
So did the QB
So did the Defensive Line
Just drop put the shovel down and realize that arguing that our offensive line sucks, or is poorly coached, is FS.
If Bainavalu and Foster or Austin Jackson end up at UW, then there goes that argument as well -

Interior OL is a problem. Everyone knows or at least should have known Brostek sucks. Getting him to perform at all is a feather in Strausser's cap. Harris should be a stud once he puts on weight. We have some young guys and vets that could be serviceable to really good.guntlove said:Agree with both Whuggy and ChoadDawg...

At one point Victor couldn't get on the field. Bierria and Lawyer (I think that's his name) we're ahead of him in Pete's first year. With Sark I would say Roberts and the other young OL suck. That hasn't been the case with Petersen.
Adams simply had a shitty game, but we all know he's about as good of tackle as UW has had since Lincoln Kennedy.
