But the experts tell us that religion isn't the problem, only islam.

religion is the problem, but islam is just more of a problem than any other

Does anyone know what he said to deserve it?

This definately compares to what Islam has done of late

Look at how many people are killed because of Christianity. Then look at how many people are killed because of Islam. Then, consider that the world has about 50% more Christians than Muslims in it.
There's problems everywhere. But Islam is, by far, a bigger problem. I do feel bad for peaceful Muslims, though, and I honestly have no idea how to solve the problem. Fighting war after war doesn't seem to be working. -

Read what the koran says about infidels (you) and then pop off.

Common sense is useless for the "atheists" who have specific vendetta for Christianity.Fenderbender123 said:Look at how many people are killed because of Christianity. No problem if you want to say that extreme islam has been worse than extreme christianity recently -- but that is like saying that Smallpox has killed more humans than the Spanish Flu. Both diseases have been shitty, and all diseases are shitty, not just the shittiest.

This shit happens every single day in the Islamic world. By the thousands. But go ahead and keep your head in the sand (lol) about it. Their holy book explicitly teaches them to kill those who don't convert and leaving the religion is punishable by death. They would love to kill all your stupid liberal friends and praise allah for the opportunity.
But I'm sure an isolated incident proves your point about Christians being evil. Atheists talk more about Christianity than most Christians do. The obsession continues. Go ahead and equate the two religions and use that as a political argument against the GOP if you want.
Islam is the fastest growing religion in Europe because of "tolerant" dumbfucks like you and I don't want it here. If that's intolerant, then fuck it. I'm intolerant of a religion that teaches people to kill non-believers and was founded with the sole intent of taking land by force.
It isn't just some bad apples. It's the point of the religion as a whole and "moderate" muslims just ignore that fact. Christianity went through a reform period and Islam did not. Former Christian nations practice separation of church and state and are largely secularized. Not the case with Islam. You're fucking stupid if you ignore that fact. Period. -
It's always special to have a special book and to pick and choose the special parts you especially like.dnc said:

Why do Christians get to pick and choose the parts of their book they support, but Muslims don't? -
Because the book explicitly says things have changed.ThomasFremont said:

For the record, the Koran is basically the exact opposite of the Bible. The Koran starts with peace and tolerance and gets progressively more violent and hateful. The Bible moves in the opposite direction. So if you assume that things written later trump things written earlier (as basically every faith does), you get predominately peaceful New Testament Christians and many significantly violent Muslims. Because that's what their holy texts produce.
We could also just look to the lives of the founders of the religions if you prefer going at it that way. Jesus peacefully died a violent death, telling his followers not to harm other to protect him. Muhammad massacred large amounts of people.
But you don't have to agree with that interpretation of the texts, or the stories of the founders, you can just look at the followers of said texts for evidence. Violent Muslims make a lot more headlines than violent Christians for a reason, and it's not media bias. There are a hell of a lot more people reading the Koran who think "this is telling me to be violent" than those reading the Bible who take it that way.
That's not an accident. -
I'm not defending Islam, I'm pointing out the massive issue with interpretation of old text written by a bunch of cave people.dnc said:

This issue is not unique to any religion. It might be the one thing that they all have in common.

That's not an accident.
Christianity through education and enlightenment has undergone significant reforms that Islam has not and needs to, and the people who pretend like it doesn't are FS.
All rreligions suck and must be reformed or if I had my way deserted. Islam may be worse in that way, but not by much. The problem is in many countries it is the least reformed of any religion -

Read the old testament sometime.PurpleJ said:Convert or die?
When the Israelites rampaged through the land that their "god gave them", they just murdered everybody that already lived there. Their victims weren't even offered the chance to convert.
So in a sense, Islam is kinder in that regard. -

Islam is only 1400 years old. Christianity is 2000 years old and Judaism is over 3000 years old.PurpleJ said:This shit happens every single day in the Islamic world.

No, it wasn't. What Christianity did 1400 years ago isn't anything to be proud of but it's not equivalent to what Islam's doing today.OZONE said:

You might start with reading about the conquistadors and missionaries in the new world.
Then read about the Dutch in the east Indies. -
