A hundred or so throwaway handles over the course of a half dozen years isn't that big a deal. Takes about 30 seconds to register. I think sometimes a few of us raced to see who could register and use a particular fake handle first, given the way a discussion was going on some bored somewhere. The vast majority were disposable fire-and-forget handles for the sake of a momentary laugh.

I remember now that it was StanfordObserver on the furd bored. One afternoon I took it upon myself to lower his posting reputation by downvoting a couple dozen of his posts with my 52 handles. Since it was the furd bored and there were only about ten people total over there to give him any upvotes, my effort was relatively successful -
AoG made decent poasts in a thread. UW is #4 in the country. Hell has frozen over
