World to be a half degree cooler with new agreement

How self-important of America to think our Carbon foot print matters while China and India keep pumping out carcinogens and making us pay for it.
China will continue to do what they do, collect our debt, and pollute the planet to make profits at wal-mart.
You're going to be happy we over spent on military shit the last 30 years when it all goes down. -
I agree that their air quality is crap. But they won't stop. The big issue is, what are we going to do when it gets so bad that that the shit starts blowing over to OUR? west coast?ThomasFremont said:

It actually isn't. EPA regulations have been another reason manufacturing companies have moved overseas. Because environmental controls have such an economic tie to it, controls must have a global standard and all nations must follow it. All this deal does is guarantee China another 12 years of competitive advantages over the rest of the world.2001400ex said:

They can have their zero protection manufacturing jobs.
I like to be able to breathe the air.
As long as they can continue to economically benefit from their emissions they'll keep doing it.
The improvements that America and it's allies our accomplishing with emission controls doesn't make one dent to what India and China are going to do on their end to destroy it over the next 8 years and 12 years respectively.
We like to think we accomplished something, when we actually accomplished nothing. -
Holy shit, so many things wrong with this. Your memory of American pollution is terrible. Look up history of water, air, land, whatever, pollution in America.HoustonHusky said:
That's exactly his point though...when those jobs were here (and other places) they didn't cause the pollution that they do in China.ThomasFremont said:

When @2001400ex is in a foxhole with you, you just have to shoot him in the temple and take him ammo. No sense in you both getting killed.

EPA was founded in 1970, but even before then the US was worrying and fixing its pollution problem. By the mid 1980s things were pretty good, yet Chinese manufacturing was just a blip. Apparently nothing was manufactured for, what 15 years until China ramped up? Because apparently according to some you can't manufacture certain things without China-level pollution...

Sounds like you are agreeing that environmental regulations don't have much of an effect on outsourcing jobs to India and China.HoustonHusky said:
