China will start reducing greenhouse gases 8 years from now and India will start in 12. BRB JO2001400ex said:Didn't figure it would take death long to reply to a global warming thread.
At the current rate, we'll have WW3 before then, which will probably kill this deal. -
Yes it's lame. They should start reducing greenhouse gases now. But the conservatives went with business needs over environment and liberals were too much of a pussy to push back. If anyone here has been to China or India, you'll know they need to reduce that shit now.greenblood said:

Sure we strangle our economy while others do nothing. Good plan.

You'd rather go back to when rivers were catching on fire. The economy being strangled by EPA is bunch of bullshit.Sledog said:Sure we strangle our economy while others do nothing. Good plan.

It actually isn't. EPA regulations have been another reason manufacturing companies have moved overseas. Because environmental controls have such an economic tie to it, controls must have a global standard and all nations must follow it. All this deal does is guarantee China another 12 years of competitive advantages over the rest of the world.2001400ex said:

They can have their zero protection manufacturing jobs.

Then why are a lot of jobs over there call centers and human capital jobs? Jobs are outsourced cause people will work all day for a bowl of rice. I'm my world, we start people off at $50k first day out of school. In India, they work for $9k. Not to mention that Japan manufacturers cars here while GM and Ford manufacture in Canada and Mexico.greenblood said:

Regulations are a tiny part of why businesses outsource. -
Only rivers I've seen destroyed were the fault of the EPA. Check out the mess Durango Colorado on the Animas river. The EPA destroyed the entire eco system, not once but twice. They were told by experts not to mess with it as it would do exactly what occurred. the EPA is now just an arm of the "progressives" (code for commie but you know that being a member) used to destroy the economy because change of that magnitude can not occur without crisis and the EPA through it's overreaching regulations causes economic loss.2001400ex said:

Oh, so you are saying the environment is worse now than it was in the 50s and 60s before the EPA?Sledog said:

Remember, @RaceBannon stands with this. -
That's exactly his point though...when those jobs were here (and other places) they didn't cause the pollution that they do in China.ThomasFremont said:
