Petersen earned his shit coach label over more than a few games...
Maybe he has earned the removal of that label by winning some games this year
If he wants the good/great coach label he has 8 more games to go
this is the most optimistic I've been as a UW fan

If you didn't exhibit some form skepticism during the first two seasons of Petersen then you were clearly ignoring the same signs that turned us into a doormat over the last 15 years. I was excited about the hire initially but over time really began to wonder if he was just like all the rest. Was Boise just a myth? Are we eternally cursed? Is it really going to be Stanford and Oregon running the conference for the next 50 years? What the fuck. The wins weren't there. However, there were a few encouraging signs that we didn't see from Ty and Sark. The defense held up despite attrition to the NFL/graduation and they found their offensive leader in Browning at the most important position in college football. The special teams became a strength. They looked more like football players. There was depth. Seemed like there was more of an emphasis on the little things with Petersen. All that was missing was the big wins.
Fast forward to the last two weeks. Fucking incredible. It's what we've been craving for a decade and a half. Every game is big now. Fuck. Being 6-0 going into the bye speaks for itself and it doesn't matter if you doubted Petersen or dooged him up since he was hired, all that matters is that we are winning and winning big. It's been so long since we've felt anything close to this. Clobbering Stanford Oregon by a combined 114-27. If you told me that two months ago I would have said you were full of shit. Murder city. It feels fucking good. Games matter now. With the parity in the Pac12 right now there is an opportunity to take the back the conference. Giddy up. -

The most obvious improvement under Peterson is the absence of blowout losses on the road, which were a Sark hallmark. Worst road loss in 2014, 45-20 to Oregon, & that was it. Worst to Stanford in 2015, 31-14. Team stayed competitive in every other game each season despite anemic offenses for 1.5 seasons. That's a major upgrade in focus, discipline and attitude, even when the offensive execution was shit. Offense clicks and the team is on fire. That tells you what needed fixing and got fixed.Baseman said:
