The origins of the horrible Don James rumor spreading online

Speaking for myself, I received a text from a booster, plus I figured that kind of thing would not be mentioned by Fetters/Grinolds unless it WAS confirmed. And I foolishly assumed it to be true, and made some sorrow-filled comments on this message board and called a former player I am friends with to let him know.
Shame on Dawgman for spreading rumors again, and shame on me for not confirming it and being reactionary.

It was either Fetters who was dumb enough to run with it on chat on his own or Kim who was classless enough to TELL Fetters to run with it on chat. Either way, this is a watershed moment of idiocy on the part of Dawgman.

I left a message for coach James earlier this week and didn't hear back from him, which is very rare for him. Beyond that, I don't know anything other than the text I received and what Fetters said in chat.

I would hope that even Kim wouldn't stoop that low, but I can't be sure. Kim and Fetters needed to be fired long ago. This one will piss off the University, former players and coaches, members of the media, and most importantly, Don James' family. It will be tough for doogman to live this one down. There's a reason there has not been a report that Don James has died. Either his family does not want to release the news yet, or he is still alive. What about respect for Mrs. James and the family ? Turning the death (?) of somebody who did so much good for the program into fodder for their unprofessional piece of shit website is the real offense , even if they reported it correctly.
Just imagine if the rumor was true and there was a member of the James family who found out from Dawgman. Can you imagine what that must be like , finding out that your father or grandfather died from some online chatter? That's what 'give the family some privacy' means. Even if they were right, they failed a test of basic decency, civility, and professionalism. -

You have to be very careful with "so and so has died" on the internet. Celebrities "die" all the time. I've heard of people I know from high school that are supposedly dead, so I've heard, but without proof I would only say "I heard that so and so is dead but no proof."

Derek, I don't remember any posts from you last night referencing the rumors concerning Coach James' health - other than comments about what Fetters and Kim were putting out during the game.
I've been jumping on those because I think that was a total breach of basic journalistic ethics and those clowns like to pretend that they are journalists and that their BS website is a credible information source. Hopefully people will start seeing them in the right perspective.
It has long been my view that the skewed perspective from DM.c is a non-trivial part of what is holding back Husky Football the program. Their role is to keep the rubes happy - and keep pressure off of the AD to put a good product on the field. Kim almost certainly overstepped his bounds in the last 24 hours and needs to be held accountable.
