After a little more research here's what I've found:dnc said:
You clearly underestimate Nirvana's worldwide appeal. They've sold 75 million albums. Heart's sold 35 mill.PurpleThrobber said:
Imma guess Quincy Jones is probably the leader in the clubhouse if you want to go down that path.RaceBannon said:
A wild guess bit pretty sure Heart has sold more albums than anyone in the north westPurpleThrobber said:
Fuck all y'all for not including Heart (ILTC Bellevue "Seattle").dnc said:

They used to be my favorite. Not anymore though. I still like them better than Pearl Jam. Pearl Jam and their fans are awful.
AIC
Nirvana
Soundgarden
Pearl Jam
Especially Nancy, not chunky Ann though she was fairly doable back in the day.
But Heart has to be far and away the best selling artist from the Northwest. Probably by double at least.
Though that fuck Macklemore rings the register in high quantity via the interwebs. He might catch them eventually.
Macklemore will never touch Heart's sales let alone Nirvana's.
Nirvana 75 million
PJ 60 million
AIC and Heart both at 35 million
Soundgarden 22.5 million
But number one looks like Jimi Hendrix, with 80 million sold worldwide. -
70"s Hear was not for girls and homos, flea. They were big in Shelton even. Led Zeppelin wannabes. I'm not talking faggy 80's video Heart
-
Yeah - I hear you. Everyone listened to and wanted to bang the Wilsons when Dreamboat Annie and Little Queen were out. It was good music.RaceBannon said:70"s Hear was not for girls and homos, flea. They were big in Shelton even. Led Zeppelin wannabes. I'm not talking faggy 80's video Heart
But then they went horribly wrong - and miraculously, the albums I thought were pieces of shit were their biggest sellers.
I don't give a fuck that Pearl Jam sold more than Soundgarden, either - Badmotorfinger and Superunknown are albums I can listen to over and over and I don't think PJ ever had an album I wanted to play over again.
It makes sense Jimi would set the bar. Who the fuck in the world doesn't like Jimi?

Fuck guys.
Can only take so much disrespect for a master work. -

Ehh. You like what you like.dnc said:
But you're an incompetent ass if you don't have Cornell as a top 3 rock vocalist and lyricist of the past 30 years. -
And there's an abhorrent lack of respect here for the following in no particular order:dnc said:
Mudhoney
Mother Love Bone
Green River

He's right. Pretty vocals usually mean that your band sucks.GrundleStiltzkin said:Early in my poasting carrere hardyharhar here, the Actual Duck tried to say Modest Mouse > Soundgarden.

I don't agree. But I'll allow it.doogsinparadise said: -
you don't say? I'm shocked a genre that was largely regional before being infiltrated by A&M, Columbia, and Geffen would have many noteworthy / influential artists that the fans of the Top-40 radio frontrunners don't know about.salemcoog said: -

I saw RHCP and them at Key Arena in September of 2000. Gotta say, I wasn't all that impressed with STP, even though I like them better as a band. I was pretty far away though so maybe that's not fair.RoadDawg55 said:Love Layne. I love Kurt, but the best live frontman from that era was Scott Weiland.
I'm on my broke phone, but google stp down live 1999. If you aren't feeling that, I don't know what to tell you. -
Darkie - since you are grunge superiority guy what are your thoughts on paw, handsome and Bruce Dickinson skunkworks album ? I am curious
