They have no obligation to confirm any specific nominee. The whole "let the people decide so we'll just put this thing on hold for 10 months" is bullshit though. The constitution gives them the authority to reject nominees on the basis of the nominee, not to reject nominees on the basis of who nominated them.PurpleJ said:
