S&P projections 2k16

Wait a second ... is that Washington in the top 10?

Yep.

The Huskies won last year's "mediocre record, strangely impressive S&P+ ratings" award*. They finished just 7-6, but they played really well in one particular loss (Oregon), lost two other games (to Boise State and California) by six or fewer points, and played at the 91st percentile or higher in six of seven wins. Very few teams played at an elite level more than that.

UW was also young as hell. That made for an inconsistent product, but it also means the Huskies return almost everything. That's all the numbers need to see.

Too much, too soon? Maybe. But Chris Petersen's rebuilding project appears to be a year ahead of what I anticipated.

Washington's presence in the top 10, by the way, allows me to whistle right on by Tennessee projecting ninth. NOTHING TO SEE HERE.

Guy at the tennis club, a former UCLA player whose son played at ASU a few years back, is really high on UW over the next few years, but he surprised me by saying that Browning will be eased out of his starting role as soon as some hot incoming QB gets acclimated. Says Browning has the moxie and accuracy but is too much of a noodle arm, can't make the throws he needs to be able to make. Guy says that once that happens, UW will really roll.

Is he full of shit, or is there some can't-miss QB prospect that UW picked up when I wasn't paying attention?

He's full of shit, Peterman loves Browning. But yeah, he's a noodle arm.

Browning doesn't have plus arm strength, at all, but I haven't seen signs that it is bad enough that he can't be extremely effective.

His main issue, so far, has been overthrows on deep balls.

Have you talked to this UCLA guy's wife about victory coitus?
I don't know her well enough, but maybe 30 years ago she would have been good for a romp

Petersen starts every year 3-0 thanks to woodcock's schedule. Most of the Pac 12 is shit. 10 wins is not some unobtainable goal. Lose to Stanford and Oregon and beat everyone else.

If they are good enough to be a legit 10 win team then they should win both those games or split at worst.

I've gotta say... I'd rather have advanced metrics hype our potential for next season than roof, dawgman and the army of doogs, etc.

I thought UW would win 5 games this past season, because -2 for Ross and -1 for Miley...I had no hope a decent OL, and QB would show up.
I see no reason why they shouldn't get to at least 10 wins next year. UW's probably around a top 15 team, but top 10 is a stretch.
