Offseason is best seasonTequilla said:There's absolutely no reason for this UW team not to win 10 games next year.
Amazing that a TBS thread got completely threadjacked by @ThomasFremont into a bitch about Pete thread. Good thing we have 8 full months until our next game and 9 full months until our next game that really matters.

Firing Petersen after 1 and a half seasons of coaching is completely rational and makes sense for a number of reasons. Middling programs all over the country fire their coaches after one year of getting similar results in their first year, and in every case, they win the NC the following year with their brand new coach and players.

Even more programs just hang on to their loser coach and muddle around in mediocrity, too afraid to make a move and demand championship football.bananasnblondes said:Firing Petersen after 1 and a half seasons of coaching is completely rational and makes sense for a number of reasons. No thanks. -
Everyone knew Petersen wasn't getting fired. He could go 7-6 next year and he wouldn't get fired. Sark was never getting fired at UW. We still wanted him fired and posted exactly that on message boards. Some of you dipshits need to learn the difference about calling for a coach's head on a message board vs reality.bananasnblondes said:Firing Petersen after 1 and a half seasons of coaching is completely rational and makes sense for a number of reasons. Btw, did anyone notice that Gaskin got more carries the last three games than he did earlier in the year and the offense took off? -
The point is you can't judge if a coach is muddling around in mediocrity just 4 games into his 2nd year unless it's an absolute dumpster fire.
And if you were demanding championship football for 2015, you're even more untethered to this earth than I thought you were. 2015 was all about taking the lumps early by going young at critical positions and then improving as the season went on to still make a bowl.
Beyond 2015 is a different matter though. It's tough to see the talent, experience, depth, and balance coming back and not think they will have a legitimate shot at competing for a Pac-12 championship the next two seasons.ThomasFremont said:

Where teams usually get rolled by sec teams is in the trenches. The southeastern United States just has a lot of big, fat athletic people.RaceBannon said:
Oregon State, Washington State and Southern Miss have caused the annual breakout of hey we were 6-6 but we don't suck bullshit. WSU and So Miss have good records but are shitty teams.HuskyInAZ said:
Opponents' W/L record, excluding conf. champ. games and bowl games....RaceBannon said:
It is amazing how often the old - play a batch of shitty teams at the end of the season - trick works.ThomasFremont said:
What was I wrong about???HFNY said:Oh Tommie, there you go again. You know, it's ok to admit you were wrong....better that than being an idiot by sticking to PETERSEN SUCKS!!!!1@!!@1 simply because you said it earlier in the year.
ThomasFremont said:1) Will Kent Love stick with us or flip to USC? flip. Bark 4 sark
2) Do we really have a shot at Juarez or is he more of a Reuben Foster that we'll lose to 'Bama and great Southern coffee? no shot. You don't turn down Saban(god)
3) Who is this OG Hellbus that was committed to Stanford and now we may land him? nope. He'll test the watrers and re-up with 'Furd.
4) Any news on the WRs? We need a WR that's at least 6 feet in this class. no news. Not a bumper crop year for WR.
5) Any videos to any of them working out with their shirts off? (I kid, I kid). no you're not
Petersen DOES suck.
Or did 7-6 give you wood like Sark used to.
- First 6 games of the season: 40-31
- Last 6 games of the season: 40-32
We lost to every decent team we played and a couple shitty ones like Cal and ASU
But this 4-5 was better than last years 4-5 and Sark's run of going 5-4
If you're a doog and you are
However, we actually might matchup well, at least on the defensive side as I think Qualls, Gaines and Vea can hold their own. Victor and Bierra would also show up well. Not so sure about Mathis.
I think our your O-line would get beaten up this year. McGary, Adams, Shelton and Kirkland may develop into something special, but right now they would get eaten by a quality sec D-line.
I also think our corners are decent (despite Gardenhire and Jones' performance in the Dallas Whatever Bowel). However, they're not physical enough to manhandle sec WRs or come up and enforce the run against large sec RBs. Kevin King and Buddha could probably do well.
History has proven that average QBs can win championships in the sec, so I think Brownsocks would be fine.
Without question, our biggest weakness against the redneck inbred schools is our so-called WRs. sec corners would feast on the pussies that we have out wide. Browning would have no open receivers the entire game. It would be embarrassing. -
What are you gonna say when we? finish 3rd in the North???HFNY said:The point is you can't judge if a coach is muddling around in mediocrity just 4 games into his 2nd year unless it's an absolute dumpster fire.

I'm pretty sure 3rd in the North is HFNY's prediction. -
