Good. Now hopefully the big government liberals will realize you don't need the federal government to hold your hand to survive.

My dad was at that party in Oslo not long before the Nazis invaded.

Since we are at war with no end in sight against terrorism everywhere at home and abroad, the President will declare martial law and ignore Congress while he pays the bills and does whatever is necessary by executive order to protect our economies and financials while keeping the war machine running for national security. This could be the only path open to dealing with the anarchy of the Tea Party controlled House of Representatives,..... as the President is required by law to make certain that the U.S. treasury does not default on the national debt or in otherwords ensure the value of the greenback.

While I admittedly lean a little left, I don't consider myself a liberal because there are many elements and values of the conservative/Republic party I agree with, and because I've voted for my fair share of Republicans as well. That being said, it appears to be pretty ignorant for conservatives to blame Obama and those who voted for him as the cause for the government shutdown. Obamacare was passed into law just like every other bill/law in this country, correct? Republicans knew full well that it would be enacted if Obama was re-elected, correct? If so, WIN THE FUCKING ELECTIONS if you don't want Obamacare to be put into effect. Holding the country hostage is incredibly extreme and irresponsible just because, for lack of a better term, you don't like the election results and will do anything to get your way. I understand the ideal of standing up for your constituents and their values/beliefs, but to force a government shut down just because you aren't getting your way is disappointing and embarrassing.

Am I missing anything here? I've only read a few things here and there, so I probably am not entirely knowledgeable on everything that has led up to this, but the main theme seems to be pretty clear.

What you're missing is that Obama had unilaterally exempted companies from the mandate until after the 14 elections so as not to lose both houses when people find out what's in the bill we had to pass to find out what'sin it. If he wants to lie and pick and choose what part of a law he will enact when the I have no problem with the house trying tosave me from that piece of shit as an iindividual. The government didn't have to be shut down and it isn't anyway. Obama wanted this so the mythical tea party can be blamed for his fucked up economy

This. Obamacare was sold as a pack of lies. It is an epic disaster. Ask anyone who actually works for a living. Welfare losers love it though, which is the Democratic base - well, them and hippies/PETA fags (and fags of course). 150K

It falls on the backs of the middle class. They will see their premiums go up and many families that are now covered will lose it as companies move to only cover the employee. Most of the middle class won't get much, if any subsidy to buy insurance from the exchanges (which are more expensive than pre ACA plans). The poor will get more free coverage, the rich don't give a fuck. The average family will pay serval thousands a year more. They should all say "fuck you", pay the penalty, and then get insurance when they need it.

America, welcome to demagoguery. Very sinister legislation by which the ruling elite has plungered the country.

Rinse. Repeat. Sorry, no more fucking soap. Make your own.

Glad I retired from the military. Not that I have world beater insurance, but at least it is affordable. Company I work at, premiums for a family of 4 went from 138 per pay cycle (14 days), to 298 per pay cycle, while the yearly deductible went from 2500 to 5000, and co-pays doubled. The company (big one - Fortune 500 type) sent out a letter specifically saying that the changes were due to the Affordable Care Act. So, over twice the price for half the insurance. Sweet deal.

I know this is a sample size of one company, but I know this info for a fact, as ALL my co-workers are super pissed off and showing their new rates around the office. I would also say most of us are "middle class." So, anyone who thought this was a good deal for the middle class workers of this country should be shot behind the barn. Oh yeah, and our providers changed because the company that did handle our contract did not renew it.

Again, doesn't affect me as a military retiree, but I feel for everyone in my company. I can't see any silver lining in this, other than some welfare recipients get more shit, while the working class pays for it. Socialism is so fun.

    Total fucking goat rope.
