This is Bugging Me

It's deeper than that ... I don't think you can look at Petersen's past at Boise and figure out what he's for or against by just looking at box scores. There's going to be a unique subset that really will spell out what it is that he wants to do.
I'm not unconvinced that some of the shift to throwing this year is to get Browning experience. How much of that experience is for the future at the expense of this year is a good question. Year still needs to play out.
And yes, I do think that if the PI on Perkins is not called, we win the Utah game. -
We've got to dive deeper into the metrics, everyone says so

I am convinced if we ran 60/40 run/pass ratio this year we would have 2 more wins between Cal/Oregon/Utah.RoadDawg55 said:Maybe the Gaskin needs 25+ carries is overblown, but it you honestly think this over analytical pass happy offense hasn't cost UW multiple games, DIAFF because you are a hopeless doog.
Smith and Pete's hard on for "balance" with a freshman qb and wr's below average has made no sense all year. I can see next year's offense being able to do this, but not this year's team.
It would be interesting to see the % of first downs we've had when we started the first and 10 with a pass play versus a running play.
Pete wanted to be "stubborn" with the run at USC. I wish they would have been "stubborn" with it all year. -
Here's a good plan for our offense:
First and 10: Run the ball to Gaskin 80% of the time. Mostly out of the I formation. Sometimes throw out of the I on play action once the Gaskin carries average above 4 ypc.
2nd and 6+: Throw a slant to FUCKING PETTIS. NEVER TO MICKENS.
2nd and 2-6: Run a trap or something with Gaskin 80% of the time; play action if he's getting 5 ypc.
2nd and 1-2: Play action.
3rd and 5+: Throw over the middle.
3rd and 1-5: Throw over the middle. -
I wish we were at like 55% run.godawgst said:

The frustrating part for me is that since browning has been back I feel like the offense has gotten better. When we run our basic plays and play action we can move the ball. But then we kill ourselves with some nuanced trick play, or some reverse, or a fly sweep, or the Lindy package.
We got more chunk plays against Utah than anyone all year, but we shit our pants and made bizzare play calls at important times. -
Will we then level-set and align on strategy?RaceBannon said:
So you'll circle back and drill down?Tequilla said:I think there's more to it than what you are describing @RoadDawg55 ... I'll try to take a deep dive into some numbers in the near future to try to get to the heart of it. There's some surface area stats that I'm fairly confident without looking would give conflicting results.
Regardless, there needs to be a strong reconsideration of what's going on offensively in the offseason. The areas that have sucked there have been so fucktardedly bad that it actually is overshadowing some of the good things going on on offense. -
Synergize data, form a task force, and send it to committee. Don't want to step on any toes, but rather we need to get people together and achieve consensus on this before sending it through the proper channels.CaptainPJ said:
