Millen on Price.

He said (something to the effect of) his opinion of Price will change when Keith "puts the team on his back and wins a game." In other words, what game has Price played in where fans largely walked away saying, "we would not have won that game had it not been for Keith."
I actually agree with that statement. He's thrown for lots of yards and touchdowns, but unlike Tuiasosopo, Locker, or even Pickett, I can't think of a game where Price actually carried the team to victory.

Idaho State?

2011 vs Cal, but this is actually a somewhat valid point. It wasn't because of his great play, but the winning drive against Stanford was clutch. Price hasn't led any great comebacks or had many clutch 4th quarter drives.

That's Hughmillenfs.
Let's see. UW won seven games last year. How many would they have won with Derrick fucking Brown or a true frosh playing QB? Two?
UW certainly loses to Boise on 8/31 w/o KP. -
Not that Hugh Millen is a racist or anything like that, but here's the lofty standard he held Locker too prior to the 2010 season:Passion said:Actually a comment by Hugh that I agree with.

What if Locker leaves Washington without any success? Former Washington quarterback Hugh Millen, who led the Huskies to an Orange Bowl triumph in 1985, says Locker shouldn't be viewed as a failure.
"I don't judge his first three years as a starter harshly," Millen said. "I'm just grateful that he was here at all. He's been able to keep a certain buzz about the program during times when it would be devoid of a buzz."

Also, here's Hugh Millen blaming a black coach for stunting Jake's growth:
http://blog.seattlepi.com/dawgsofwar/2011/04/27/the-miseducation-of-jake-locker-the-hugh-millen-interview/
As for the games that Price has carried UW to a win on his back, check these out:

http://espn.go.com/ncf/boxscore?gameId=312670264
http://espn.go.com/ncf/boxscore?gameId=313300264
The lesson as always: Hugh Millen is either the biggest dumbass on Seattle radio or (and? abundance?) he hates black quarterbacks. -
The whole "leading the team to a late comeback victory" argument is fucktarded anyway. A QB often has to lead his team to a comeback in the fourth quarter to make up for the shit play he put up in the first three quarters.

How quickly people forget the Alamo bowl win.

We're lucky Jack Lockner even played here at all

I still would have benched Lockner during the 2010 three game losing streak, if not in the Nebraska game.RaceBannon said:We're lucky Jack Lockner even played here at all

So throwing for 438 yards 4 tds and 0 interceptions to go along with 3 rushing touchdowns isn't putting a team on your back? Yea way to fucking go Keith, pathetic you couldn't get the 68 points to lead us to victory or stop their offense from gaining 20 yards or more on every play.
What the fuck does Price have to do? It makes me sick talking to my friends and who still go "well it all depends what Keith Price shows up" before every game.
I almost hope Cyler Miles (you know the doogs savior) is a complete flop so people will really appreciate how good Keith really was as a QB to us. That will never happen though of course...
Keith is on pace to shatter every record yet because of one of the shittiest O-Lines in 2012 thanks to the amazing recruiting of our amazing QB coach he will only be criticized.

Bingo! Someone's leadership had to overcome those 16 penalties and keep drives alive. Nobody on the sidelines seemed to have a clue.RaceBannon said:Idaho State?

There's some good points made about 4th quarter drives in this thread. That said, out of all the fucktarded arguments Millen makes for Locker vs Price, this is one of his more logical ones.

You'll be surprised when you start looking.

Your friends are right, but not for the reason they think. Whether UW wins *does* depend on which KP shows up. The upright one, or this one:CuntWaffle said:What the fuck does Price have to do? All of Locker's game winning drives were only game winners because he fucked up all game long.
Price has led GW drives against Stanford and Oregon State. Carried us in Alamo Bowl.
We lose 2011 vs Cal and Hawaii if not for Price.
Should have led a GW drive vs WSU but his fucktarded coach got too cute on 3rd and1.
This whole thread is fucking stupid and insulting. Fuck this bored has turned into Doogman 2.0 now. -

I'm sure you did but this week has been really bad.
I mean guys are acting like beating 3 shit schools is something, asking how to watch a fucking game in 2013, saying Hugh is right bout Price.
Christ! -
I'd take Price over Locker a thousand times out of a thousand. If he managed to lead us to a victory at Stanford, or Jake forbid ends the Oregon streak -- his legend will increase exponentially.
-
Even if we manage to beat Oregon, Hugh will find a way to diminish Keith's contributions. Book it.Gladstone said:I'd take Price over Locker a thousand times out of a thousand. Price can throw for 400 and 5 TD's and beat UO and Hugh will give all the credit to Sark.

On the other side of the coin I can't remember a game where UW lost and I went "damn if not Price we win this game".
Whereas with Locker there was some games where I uttered that phrase. -
Ridiculous.
-
There were plenty of times where I questioned what the Locker hype was all about. The only game I even remotely felt like Price blew it was last year against USC. He didn't blow it as bad as Sark though.He_Needs_More_Time said:On the other side of the coin I can't remember a game where UW lost and I went "damn if not Price we win this game".

When Price fumbled on the 2 against USC trying an option play after Sankey led us down there I was so upset at Sark that game. Plus his terrible special teams for getting a punt blocked.RoadDawg55 said:

Locker really did cost us the UCLA and ASU games in 2009. In 2010 he was a big reason why the Nebraska game was a plunger rape. He also had a large part in losing the BYU game along with Sark. -
Millen must not like Hobart, who despite being undefeated as a starter, never put the team on his back and willed them to a win.
Football is a team game, and excepting Tui or maybe Chandler vs USC (who was it he replaced?, plus that win didn't happen without Mo Hill) how many games like that have we really had? Foster in the Holiday Bowl? -
Clutch play is overrated, overall play is underrated.
-
Millen can fuck off when it comes to his opinions on Price.
Millen's place in husky history was cemented by the '84 defense which was insanely awesome. Price hasn't had one-third of the help around him that most husky QB's have had and he puts up pinball machine-type numbers.
I hope Keith hears Millen's criticism and realizes that Hugh isn't even a pimple on his ass in terms of what he's done in husky history. -
Millen had terrible college stats at UW. He was also benched during his senior year and was the only QB in a 30 year run to lose to Oregon State. Hugh was a fucking bum.

Those numbers are a fucking dreckfest.
