Would you trade Petersen for Harbaugh?

NoGood question.
I think Petersen has more staying power. Harbaugh would be winning big faster. -
NoI think they are both proven winners, but I think should they win big here Peterman would have more staying power. So I went with him. If he only wins 6 games this year, fuck him and I change my vote.
-
NoWhat Grundle said.

YesHarbaugh is football the right way. Smash mouth, fuck 'em.
I love him deeply.
Pete is in the same tier though. -
YesIn my version of the hypothetical I assumed that the reason Harbaugh was even at UW was because for some reason he wanted to coach here for a long time. That is the only way he could have ended up back in college ball after being inexplicably pushed out at SF.
Michigan is very lucky they stumbled into him after royally fucking up their program over the last 15 years. -
YesHarbaugh beats Stanford, ASU and Okie State.....that's all I have to say about that.
-
YesRavenna needs to see a championship
-
YesHarbaugh would probably turn the team and administration around quicker. But I think he's also looking to get back to the NFL ASAP. I don't think Peterson will leave UW unless he gets fired.
-
YesAbso fucking lutely.
And I am a huge CCP fan. -
YesHarbaugh has proven he can rebuild a program for sustained success, turn a program into a winner and compete for championships within a three year period. Until Petersen proves that, which he obviously has had only had one season to do, Harbaugh gets my vote.
-
YesThe 2006 Stanford team was far below our owen12 team talent wise. Turning the extreme bad news bears into the toughest, dirtiest team in the land in 4 years is one of modern CFBs biggest achievements.

NoI hear you and my hope is that Strausser's preference for bigger OL (vs what Tuff Guy Coz liked) will bring more smash. Same with multiple TEs since UW has Perkins, Daniels, and Ajamu to use.
Harbaugh brings the energy, sizzle, and name to a program now but Petersen is a better fit culturally and in terms of staying power. The last time UW had a coach longer than 6 seasons was Don James and I could see Harbaugh jumping ship to the NFL after 3 or 4 seasons while I see Petersen retiring from UW in 10-15 years.Dennis_DeYoung said:Harbaugh is football the right way. YesFor the entertainment value alone. Plus, he'd go out of his way to piss off the Cuogs and Ducks. And eventually beat Oregon more than once every 11 years.

I'll take both.... ABUNDANCE!
I love Comrade Petersen, so it is hard for me to say this, but I would probably trade him for Harbaugh (assuming Harbaugh stays as long as I think Petersen would, which is a long time).
I can see both sides of the argument, I actually think Petersen will prove in year 3 that he can turn around a program but I KNOW Harbaugh can do that right now.
Either way, both are one of the very few elite coaches out there.
Now I changed my mind, I like Petersen a lot and I don't have to worry about him getting fired for beating a player and causing mass lawsuits. -
Yes
Harbaugh is idolized in Ann Arbor. Why on earth would he want to go back to the NFL where he got run out of town after making the NFC Championship 3 times in 4 years?HFNY said:I hear you and my hope is that Strausser's preference for bigger OL (vs what Tuff Guy Coz liked) will bring more smash. It is obvious he is having the time of his life right now. Look at the pictures of him competing shirtless at that satellite camp. You think this guy is itching to leave that?
Harbaugh is the next Saban. -

NoI think Jimmy will go back to NFL in the next 5 years. I think CP stays here for 10+ if he's winning and doesn't get run.
Also, as a niner fan, I couldn't stomach anymore of that douche running a football team I love. -
YesNot wanting to hire someone because they might leave us one day is one of the 7 pillars of dooglam.
Petersen's time at Boise proves he's a good coach with a high possibility of being great. Harbaugh's already proven he's a great coach. This isn't even debatable.
I'd take Harbaugh faster than he can take off his shirt. -
YesI said the other day that I think Urban Meyer will push Harvbaugh's shit in annually. I think that highly or Urban Meyer. He's won titles at two programs and I'm not certain his Utah team could have won a title with Alex Smith.Urban is on another level and is starting way ahead of Harvbaugh.
That said, this is an easy decision. UW has been a pussy, piece of shit program for a long time and Harbaugh would be the perfect antidote.
Being a big time NFL coach that has coached in a Super Bowl has a lot more meaning to recruits than Peterman coaching at dinky Boise State. I also prefer winning at almost any cost over OKG.
Petersen may end up being great, but I think Harbaugh is the safer bet. At worst Harvbaugh leaves and/or gets fired for doing something crazy, but leaves great talent. Worse case scenario for Peterman is Dan Hawkins part 2. -
Yes
Yeah who wouldn't want to put on a faggy goof ball show in rural Alabama to woo high school kids after being in the super bowl 3 years ago. Sounds like a dream come true, quite honestly.FremontTroll said:

DNC's post before this had me on the fence, but this pushed me over. I change my mind. You guys are right. YesI don't think harbaugh would need as long to turn UW into a powerhouse. Petersen's way is methodical and we're gonna see this year that his method doesn't yield immediately stellar results.

The Harbaugh obsession continues.
