If the Pac-10 had never punished Washington...

The counter argument, of course, is that the liberal fucks in the UW athletic department would have eventually fucked everything up sooner or later.

I'll take the counter argument.

I did that at my brother's wedding, but it wasn't as funny.

SC getting slapped and then stuck in mediocrity at the time of negotiations is probably a bigger drag on TV revenues, if anything.
-
Many people in say...SEC cuntry or New Yawk consider the Pac 12 as USC and the 11 dwarfs. Attention whore Oregon has built up a little bit of a brand, but once they fade away into a 7-5 team that ends instantly.BallSacked said:SC getting slapped and then stuck in mediocrity at the time of negotiations is probably a bigger drag on TV revenues, if anything.

Oregon has become a pretty big brand but that took time. I agree with Ballbag that having USC as the power is crucial to TV money. Having someone like Oregon (or UCLA or UW) as a worthy rival also helps. More the better.
The SEC has built 3 or 4 teams as major brands and that leads to the perception that they are top to bottom TUFF!
The PAC 12 is now considered to be like Oregon - only one good team and that team will fold when punched in the mouth by some non conference power
And yes, UW was looking for any reason to kill the power program James built. They pretty much conspired with the Pac 10 to do so -
If Gerberdung actually fights for the program, Don James probably coaches another five years.
I still think Oregon becomes a good team, but they don't win 3/4 or 5/7 with James coaching instead of Lambo. No way in fucking hell. As for this little run Chimp had, who knows. Maybe Washington doesn't tank from 2004-2008 under incompetent coaches.
I still think the national perception of the teams besides the Condoms remains ignorant. People who really follow college football know Warshington was a good Pac 12 team for many years, but most people just follow their team and maybe their conference. So no, it wouldn't have made a huge difference IMO. -
You would have said the same thing about the big10 and Ohio State a year or two ago.RaceBannon said:

Just look at the history starting with Gil Dobie. They never should have fired him, for starters. Don't trust the decision making at the UW. That is the lesson.DerekJohnson said:Perhaps the Huskies would have remained a national power and the conference would be much stronger today in terms of generating TV revenue.

They are still irrelevant in the big picture. It's like SEC fucktards popping off about the Mississippi schools.PostGameOrangeSlices said:Counter argument 2: Arizona schools get SERIOUS about football

Why are you guys playing IF about stuff so far in the past?DerekJohnson said:Perhaps the Huskies would have remained a national power and the conference would be much stronger today in terms of generating TV revenue.
How about this: What if Colorado had hired Don James the year before you guys did? They interviewed him, but he was their second choice (their mistake, obviously). -
How far away is that from the 7-11 on Aurora?ApostleofGrief said:OT: There is a bikini car wash going on at 145th and Aurora worth a detour

Other than USC, the Pac-12 members have won 2 half-championships in my lifetime.
It's amazing that the conference gets as much respect as it does. -

Big Ten: Michigan, Nebraska, Ohio State

All of these conferences are equal to or better than the Pac-12 when it comes to what matters. -
