Petersen interview with Mitch this morning

I fucking hate how the media thinks they are entitled to answers just because they are the media. If you are good at your job and don't ask extremely lazy questions then you should be able to get answers you want.
Overall the interview was decent though. Said he isn't happy with the average performance last year. Didn't hear any excuses about the overall record. Said the defense played great at times and the offense didn't respond and its up to him to figure that out this season. It was refreshing to not hear about how awesome next season will be because they guys are practicing harder than ever.
I really do hope this coaching stint works out because Petersen is a likable/respectable coach and person.

Petersen should have told Mitch to not be a twister.CuntWaffle said:Flat out told Mitch he doesn't like talking with the media because they twist and lie. Mitch of course tried the whole "well if we aren't told that's when we tend to make things up" and Peterman pretty much said that just makes him more put off by them.
BTW Mitch, you asshole, this is not creative writing. You don't get to make shit up when you don't have any info. Of course, most of media pretty much operates this way any more. It's all a bunch of opinion and hearsay. -
Kim Grinolds disagrees. People here have and still pay $10.95 for monthly access to his creative writing.PurpleBaze said:

I still love CP as the head coach of UW and am excited for the future....but the boner in my sweatpants has gone down.
His glaring coaching mistakes which had me baffled in the Stanford, ASU and Arizona games...and the retention of Smith as OC leaves me with doubt that I never had about him before. -
Great points. I don't understand the media being hell bent on needing respect. Or this entitlement to talk to athletes and coaches.
But then again I do, working in that industry the "talent" always believed they were above everyone else even though they had the thinnest skin. They couldn't handle a drop of criticism, I saw plenty of epic meltdowns.
It was rare, they thanked or showed any respect the 30 other people it took to put a show together. Bill Wixey was one of the worst offenders.
Gaard Swanson, that dude was great to work with. Total stud.
I interned at KJR for while back in the day. Seth Everett, pretty much a dick.Cocky as hell.... Mitch? everyone hated Mitch and went through producers like Lawarence Taylor finding a bag of coke. So condescending, that it made you want to put your fist in his face. The ego clashes were daily, horrible work environment. Every person there thought they were smarter than everyone else.
-
Mitch acts as if Peterman is asking the media not to air the games on television or radio and only report the scores the next day. It seems pretty obvious that he is fine fulfilling his obligations to the media but does not think it be wise, or respectful for that matter, to divulge detailed information about the personal goings on of an organization of nearly 100 college kids. If the media has issue then raise it with UW or the NCAA or STFU.

I'm getting a lot of complaints about the constant criticism and bashing that goes on out here. People don't even want to post anymoreHuskyJW said:I still love CP as the head coach of UW and am excited for the future....but the boner in my sweatpants has gone down.

Ian just played an bit from the interview where Peterman denied Peters got into a fight with an assistant. So Ian says that Peterman is calling Jood a liar for posting it and says that's why you need open practices.
To me, that's a perfect example of why Peterman wouldn't want open practices. -
Furness and his sidekick Puckett are always taking jabs at Petersen. Making fun of his OKG thing, his hearing his press conferences, how white his teeth are, jokes about how he looks sick because he is in shape.Alexis said:Ian just played an bit from the interview where Peterman denied Peters got into a fight with an assistant. Fuck Mitch. Fuck Furnace. Fuck Puckett. Fuck all of Seattle sports-media with a rusty conical cheesegrater.

rich coming from those fat fags. Furness looked awful on KCPQ about a year ago. -
Not that it matters, but Petersen might be the skinniest coach in college football. He looks like a cross country runner. Rail thin looks kind of strange on a grown man (75k).CuntWaffle said:

Didn't Gaard Swanson almost get to be the host of some national show? I know he came back to Seattle recently and the guy had a really nice place. The guy with a happy and humble disposition had himself a nice career while these other local media clowns maintain their egos along with marginal careers. The majority of sports media people in Seattle are losers by birth or choice.
Puckett and Furness are the dumb and dumber of KJR. Their antics contributed to KJR losing the UW contract and they still act like fucking clowns. Don't worry Funess, if KJR folds you can be a spokesperson for 30-10 weight loss. Looks like you only have a double chin now. -

They did the same thing when Pete Carroll got up here, made fun of him for his rah-rah attitude, naming practice days and everything else. They thought they were so funny because he wasn't winning big. Carroll shoved that right up their fat asses a few years later.CuntWaffle said:

I think the people who expect a similar record to his Boise St record or Chip's four year run are going to be disappointed (I haven't really seen those expectations).
It's possible, but it for a program outside of the Bammer/THE OSU/SC/OU royalty, it's really difficult and rare. Even with Uncle Philly's unlimited money to buy video gaymes, weed, cops, and NCAA officials, it's surprising Oregon has done what it has accomplished. Kelly was a diamond in the rough they found in remote New England.
We're probably looking at more of a Miles LSU run in which they win 8-12 games. There probably won't be two national championships. Only SEC teams win championships with two losses... -

KJR really has a thing against Peterman. Maybe he told them to fuck off the same day he kicked Kim out of his office but no one on the KJR staff ever has anything nice to say about him
-
Thinking about it more, I really hope Peterman does well here because first of all winning is fun, but I think if we get to a high level we have a good chance of staying there with him at the helm. It won't be some fluke that we get good, it will be real. It's the first time in my fandom that UW has a coach that I actually respect, maybe that's why I was doogin' so hard last year, and still am to an extent going forward.

Ya, Gaard had some shots at some reality shows too. If I remember right it was he or Jeff probst to host survivor... probst has gone to the bank with that show. He had pretty role at fox sports when they went all out about 15 years ago.HeretoBeatmyChest said:Didn't Gaard Swanson almost get to be the host of some national show? So a coach who prides himself and his team on being disciplined, prepared and dedicated doesn't like media who are regularly careless, ill prepared and regularly down right make shit up to get clicks or 10.95 a month? Completely baffling to me.
Cp doesn't want these media members games, and really dislikes those like kem who regularly hide behind the wall of someone told us X, so don't blame us for making a buck off it regardless of truth. Oh btw, any chance you'll give us more access to the program?
I find Peterson quite refreshing in many ways. The fact that the husky beat writer essentially gossiped about peters like it was Facebook with his high buddies is incredibly embarrassing for Seattle media. How does a beat writer miss that bad on a story? -
How? They're all a bunch of fucking donkeys, that's how.
