I once commanded a Soldier who had previously served in the Russian Navy. Long, weird story there as well. Dude showed up to formation drunk on day, we sent him to the hospital and he blew a 0.49. At that level you're supposed to be dead, but he was Russian. He detoxed and became one of the best-performing guys I have ever worked with.
