Why would I tip them? They aren't providing a service beyond what I can get from a vending machine.RoadDawg55 said:
I think McDonald's workers should be paid more, or at least be able to make tips. They work just as hard or harder than most restaurant workers so why can't they be tipped? I don't see a problem with them getting $9 instead of $7.

No one would fucking make you tip. Christ, some of you are such assholes. Starbucks baristas get tips for not doing shit. McDonalds doesn't let them put tip jars out. If they just did let them do that it would make a pretty big difference.DeepSeaZ said:Why would I tip them? They aren't providing a service beyond what I can get from a vending machine.

Exactly. Bartenders get tips for pouring a beer or a glass of wine. Barista's get tips for making coffee drinks. Taking orders and making burgers in a timely fashion is just as hard of job. It wouldn't be the end of the world if these fast food workers could get tips.TheKobeStopper said:

The socialist takeover starts when fast food workers make $9 an hour instead of $7.50 but it's okay for CEOs to essentially give themselves $5,000,000 raises, defraud stockholders, break laws, and ruin companies only to receive eight digit golden parachutes. Interesting.

If you root for a football team and you hear that the scout team is thinking of going on strike because they don't get playing time like the two deeps, you would you want them to grow up and start working on improving themselves and/or transfer to another school. I think we'd agree that's the way it should be.RoadDawg55 said:
It doesn't at all. I'm just curious why it bothers some of you so much.DerekJohnson said:
Why does it matter to you if we want to comment on it?RoadDawg55 said:I was trying to get a reaction with my earlier post, but why does it matter to you guys if McDonald's workers want to get paid more?
Now imagine if scout teams were suddenly and actually going on strike in college football. And Emmert was quoted as saying that some sort of accommodation needs to be made because these scout teamers have feelings too. It would be an insult to the idea of meritocracy and of earning and deserving what you get instead of having it handed to you by an appeasing authority body.

Tips could improve service. I like incentives

Who said it was ok for a CEO to do those thing? It's not.Fire_Marshall_Bill said:The socialist takeover starts when fast food workers make $9 an hour instead of $7.50 but it's okay for CEOs to essentially give themselves $5,000,000 raises, defraud stockholders, break laws, and ruin companies only to receive eight digit golden parachutes. I don't tip at Starbucks or anywhere where I walk up to ca inter, order, get my own stuff, and bus my own table. Ever. McDonald's workers should t get tips and neither should Starbucks. The tip jars are the equivalent to "rounding up" at Safeway. The guilt weak minded people into doing something the really don't want to do by making it a public act.
