So I guess the consensus here is Cyler is incapable of improving "game-speed" awareness after 10+ starts and a full suite of spring camps/practices? Did I get that right, RD, JE and Race?

Either way it will be interesting to bump this bitch a year from now.

I didn't say that. I just wonder why Miles gets game after game and yet everyone knows Williams can't do it.

Miles improvement has been at glacial speed so far
Exactly this. Williams starts 1 game in a monsoon and the team still had a chance till the end. How is he definitively not the guy yet Cyler keeps getting the pass for making glacial improvement?
I agree that at least in game situations, we haven't seen enough of Williams. to reach a full conclusion. On the other hand, you have to realize he couldn't beat out Lindquist to open the season and has never came in even when Cyler sucked. It's not like he showed anything in the ASU game either, although I know the weather made it very tough for a first start. It's not like Cyler has been very good, so if there a even a small chance Williams was as good or better, you have to assume he would come in.

Wrong on soooooo many levels. Talent is why Peters and Stringfellow had to go right? Williams was upset at being lured here then a surprise coaching change, and peterson didn't like his reaction.... fairly obvious if you followed it at the time. Peterson is the type who would have benched marshawn lynch and said how good turbin was.
Right. Very strong logic. Peters was really good and did start when he was on the team this year.

Williams turned the ball over a lot in practice is why Lindquist started. I am sure he was upset over Sark leaving. That doesn't mean he is any good.

You do realize that Williams absolutely sucked donkey dick in the spring game and fall camp scrimmage?
I wanted him to win the job as much as anyone but he didn't perform. Hopefully he keeps improving. He has the arm. He has scrambling ability. But he needs to out perform miles.

He couldn't beat out Miles or the Swede for the Hawaii game with the full suite of spring practices under his belt.

Something isn't clicking with Troy at this point.

Throwing the ball on time and on target......
    - Great QB - 80-90% of the time
    - Good QB - 70-80% of the time
    - Average QB - 60%-70% of the time

IMO, Cyler is an average QB, save for his ability to run. However, his inability to run the offense quickly and his crappy ball security issues offset anything he does with his legs. He is what he is and has been since HS. Look at his senior year HS stats. Far from impressive. He is a prime example of an overrated HS QB by the scouting services based on his performance as a sophomore. Right now, he may be the best we have, so we have to run with it.

As for a poster or two who watched a bit of Browning's junior year Hudl film, I'd encourage you to watch the whole thing. It was one of the most impressive QB videos I've seen. His ball was thrown on time and accurately over and over and over. And oh by the way, he has 64 TDs to only 4 interceptions with 3,946 yards this year through 11 games, playing for the #5 ranked HS team in the country. Miles senior year.....he threw 14 TDs vs. 8 interceptions with 1,354 yards in 9 games. Apples and oranges

This is fucked up. Brett Hundley is #1 in the nation at .721

Cyler Miles is #13 in the country at .659 ; 2 spots behind Marcus Marriota(.671) and 3 behind Connor Heisman(.673). Interesting npte, Miley is one spot ahead of the Bellermine kid Sark spurned, now at Colorado, Liufau(.658)

To count out a Sophomore getting this many Pac-12 snaps performing as well as he has in a new system with NO spring, who doesn't turn the ball over... who has had limited WR play, an unsettled running game is pretty KimFS if you ask me. There is something there with Miles Coaches can build on. Having a super Freshman along with Lindquist, Williams and Hyphen competing in hot pursuit through the winter, spring, summer then fall should help Peterman settle down the QB position by next season.
    Wrong stat.

think Cyler has a breakout year for 2015
barring any catastrophic injuries or fist fights?

I was on the TW should start bandwagon since Stanford but have seen some progress and assertiveness not visible early in the year with Miles. Specifically in decision making and running with the football.

Not a world beater but a poor man's Tui.

I see the struggles of this year as a motivating factor during the off season of pressing.

Tell me I am crazy or FS. I can take it.

apparently no one else has the balls to do it so, sorry bro, but i had to vote you down. fuck this idea, fuck you and fuck cyler miles

You are more than capable of fucking yourself - go for it.

It sure is bold saying Miles will suck for perpetuity, eh?

I look forward to part II of Profiles in courage by phineas.
