Exactly this. Williams starts 1 game in a monsoon and the team still had a chance till the end. How is he definitively not the guy yet Cyler keeps getting the pass for making glacial improvement?RaceBannon said:
I didn't say that. I just wonder why Miles gets game after game and yet everyone knows Williams can't do it.MisterEm said:So I guess the consensus here is Cyler is incapable of improving "game-speed" awareness after 10+ starts and a full suite of spring camps/practices? Did I get that right, RD, JE and Race?
Either way it will be interesting to bump this bitch a year from now.
Miles improvement has been at glacial speed so far -

I agree that at least in game situations, we haven't seen enough of Williams. to reach a full conclusion. On the other hand, you have to realize he couldn't beat out Lindquist to open the season and has never came in even when Cyler sucked. It's not like he showed anything in the ASU game either, although I know the weather made it very tough for a first start. It's not like Cyler has been very good, so if there a even a small chance Williams was as good or better, you have to assume he would come in.Doogles said:

Cyler would need the polar opposite of cody picketts regression from junior to senior year (bad analogy but it popped up in my head for some reason), and I just don't see it.
Dude can't make a read, he can't decide when it's a good/bad idea to run the ball (I've seen so many first downs he could have jogged for while looking downfield at 1 receiver), the dude just doesn't have the composure for the moment.
Lindquist on the other hand simply can't throw accurately. -

Wrong on soooooo many levels. Talent is why Peters and Stringfellow had to go right? Williams was upset at being lured here then a surprise coaching change, and peterson didn't like his reaction.... fairly obvious if you followed it at the time. Peterson is the type who would have benched marshawn lynch and said how good turbin was.

The unforced errors in particular are worrisome. He has some tools and has shown flashes of competence. Miles lacks the it factor , not a guy who gives you the feeling he can put the team on his shoulders and lead them in crunch time. Hopefully I am wrong.

Miles has to quit smoking dope if he wants to improve.
Being that he's blick, it is not likely therefore he is not the guy. -
He'll be aight.
I put a reminder in my calendar for November 15 next year to bump this thread to beat my meat or take my lumps.
It will be interesting either way. -
What goes through Miley's head during a blitz?
