Ross not an OKG?

Ross could turn into a Top 2-3 round talent at CB ... not sure that he has that ceiling at WR.
-
Who gives a shit about NFL rounds? Ross could be a DAT, DeShaun Jackson, Reggie Bush on offense in the Pac-12 and make a much bigger impact than at corner.

The question that keeps getting asked and FEW even think long enough to fucking consider it:SevenEleven said:Who gives a shit about NFL rounds? Ross could be a DAT, DeShaun Jackson, Reggie Bush on offense in the Pac-12 and make a much bigger impact than at corner.
What has John Ross shown you as a WR to suggest that he's GREAT at it and that there's a concerted effort to NOT get him involved in the passing game?
When is the last time that you saw Ross run a route effectively that wasn't a WR screen, a drag, or a fly?
When opposing teams throw the ball 40x per game and you are a lockdown CB, you are trying to tell me that the CB has less of an impact on the game than a WR that might catch 5 balls per game? If so, you clearly haven't paid attention to Richard Sherman.
If some of you aren't able to at least consider why Ross isn't a involved as you think he is and why perhaps he couldn't have a better impact elsewhere, then you should be considering offering up your name for a future Friday sacrifice. -
Last years staff seemed to have the same issues with him. That being said its on the coaching staff to make him better.
I don't know if he is dumb, it's piss poor coaching, or abundance. -
There was a note in the summer about Ross working hard and standing out. Guess thats out the window. Maybe he's not being tough enough and going 100% in practice.
-
Petersen was talking about Ross being dinged up and the way he worded it made it seem like he wants Ross to nut up and start playing through minor injuries.
-
If he was really working hard he'd weigh more than 160lbsHeretoBeatmyChest said:There was a note in the summer about Ross working hard and standing out. Guess thats out the window. Maybe he's not being tough enough and going 100% in practice.

In recent weeks you can tell something is up in Ross's head, because he's not returning kicks with the same reckless abandon. He's tentative.
-
Seemed like it was all about this. He's trying to send a message to players that being tough means you're tough enough to practice through the same things you're willing to play through in the game. Basic stuff. I learned that shit in little league.SilkyJohnston said:Petersen was talking about Ross being dinged up and the way he worded it made it seem like he wants Ross to nut up and start playing through minor injuries.

Too edgy. He can't relate to church-choir coaching staff.GrundleStiltzkin said:

A John Ross story ... take it for what it's worth and no twisting.
Near the end of the Illinois game, Ross was visibly limping on the sidelines. After the game, my buddies and our women were at our RV rager in the E-1 lot and Ross, Mickens and Kevin King walked right by us through the lot. I paid particular attention to Ross because I wanted to see if he was still gimpy.
He walked through the lot in flip-flops and shorts with no visible limp or any sign of injury ... at all. He was moving fine, which surprised me because of how he looked on the sidelines during the game.
That Monday, there were rumors that Ross wasn't practicing because he was dinged up in the Illinois game. That sure as shit didn't make sense to me based upon what I saw when he walked through the lot. (Maybe he took the needle post-game so that he could party it up that night, and that's why he was moving so well when I saw him?)
I don't know if Pete's "dudes need to toughen the fuck up" message was directed at Ross and Daniels, but it sure sounds like it could have been. -
Ross is cooking crack in the dorms, is the word round the way...
Just what I'm hearing, don't shoot the messenger . -

Way to overload this thread with racist crap guys.

I'm not sure why this is coming as a shock to anyone. The reason peterbuns has so many players in the nfl is that they know how to prepare, know how to practice, and play hard all the time. UW players were very underwhelming in many of those areas during the seven kingdom. Whether or not the new strategy will result in wins at UW is still up in the air, but I still see a culture clash happening where multiple players will realize he's going to make them better professionals, or they will transfer to play one or two more years and amount to shit.Alexis said:Basically Peterman said that Ross and Kasen don't practice as well as a guy like Pettis, which is why you see Pettis improving and Ross and Kasen aren't. He doesn't believe in Gamers. If you don't practice well, you won't play well.
If these players goal is to play football for a living, as well as be successful in life, it probably is a good idea to show up to practice and work your balls off. It's no different in the boardroom than on the field. People who don't show up prepared stick out like a sore thumb and are regularly passed up for promotions regardless of the professional arena. -
Petersen tells one of his better offensive players to get his ass in gear... Sark praises him as being the next Reggie Bush.
A world of difference. -
Ross to defense? Shaq to offense? I'm sorry, but I refuse to believe these are the instructions Sark left Peterman when he took over the team.

It was probably String, not Ross who you saw.DHD said:A John Ross story ... take it for what it's worth and no twisting.

Ross is starting to sound like "he sure is gonna show Peterman, all right"
... then again, maybe Ross learned how much he's projected to make in the NFL as a DB -
Love how fast doogs have turned on Ross.

Fuck that, i still want to sex john ross III. That being said, i'm looking for more of a long term relationship, not a one night stand.SevenEleven said:Love how fast doogs have turned on Ross.
If he can't show up to work and learn routes and how to get open, all the speed in the world isn't going to amount to shit -
Right? He returns a kick this week or makes one big play at WR and everyone goes back to sucking him off. He's only a sophomore and he has hit a rough patch. It could end up being a big deal, but I think it's being overblown. Pettis has made plays when he has gotten the chance and Petersen says he has been practicing well. He's rightfully being rewarded for that. Ross is still a stud.SevenEleven said:Love how fast doogs have turned on Ross.

Who is turning on him? Maybe I need to reread this thread. Don't think so though. It won't be interesting.SevenEleven said:Love how fast doogs have turned on Ross.

At the end of the day, what it comes down to is getting your best players on the field in the best position for them to be successful.
