Maybe I am over-weighing the fact that he didn't get a redshirt year to bulk up like many TEs do. I just don't see the staff bouncing him and bringing in someone like Dorian Thomas (who did redshirt at Arizona and then had no stats as a RS-Frosh at Arizona).
Also, it's not unheard of for a guy to have sophomore slump after being a freshman All-American.

McCree is in

this team desperately needs a productive tight end. Counting on a massive leap doesn't seem like the plan. Degraaf show some promise as a freshmen. This year though? Yikes!
-
I think Degraff is still a promising player but one TE is not enough. I miss stud blocking TE’s too. I loved Dissly and Sample crushing guys and Westover was really good at getting out and blocking LB’s and DB’s.

Don't forget Rhino coming in. Yeah he'll be a true frosh but he is listed at 6'5" 255 lbs by Scout and 6'6" 267 lbs by On3 plus he has the desire to destroy fools.
Eldridge will be a RS-JR and has pretty good size at 6'4" 250 lbs.

They need a TE who is a proven playmaker. DeGraaf is a guy who should have redshirted in 2024 and maybe not even seen action in 2025, but that's the way it goes now. Moore was a good blocker, but is gone. I think Eldridge is a blocker but is coming off an injury.

I’d take a flyer on a 6’7” TE like Latu. He wasn’t the thickest dude but he was much, much better than I thought he’d be. Sure hands over the middle and so tall even Williams could see him flash.

UW Dawgpound has a preview on the portal. I have mentioned Pagan before (he is 6'3" though Demond didn't have trouble seeing 5'11" Roebeck):

budget constraints. Excuses flowing already.
-
Yeah, not sure I buy that particularly because it seems like UW is Tier II for budgets (around 15th). I'd like to see them concentrate the budget on CB, Edge, WR, DT, and maybe RB and TE vs. 2024 and 2025 when every single position group needed reinforcements.
