Our DTs were more of a collection being greater than the sum of its parts … nobody in that group was someone that I'd call a difference maker and definitely nobody that is deserving of a premium. If we are going to spend big at DT I'm not against it but nobody on our roster was somebody worth spending big on.

Mohammed at his best was going to be a 1B to Bonner coming in who almost assuredly is going to get some big snaps next year as a top RB recruit in the country. I have no issue with Mohammed looking for a better opportunity and more money … I also have full confidence that we'll be more than fine at the RB position whether that is by getting a 1 year guy as a big back to come in or growth from some of the other RBs on our roster. Pay at RB for difference makers and Mohammed may or may not be one … like I said elsewhere if we were told at the beginning of November that Mohammed was going to enter the portal many here would have volunteered to pack his bags for him.

Not worried about losing RVB given the quality of young WRs on our roster (both last year and this year's recruiting classes) … way more interested in how we try to replace the Boston hole and whether or not we can bring in an experienced WR (i.e. Jordan Dwyer from TCU).

Paki is the 3rd best interior OL on our roster going into next year and probably the 6th OL on the roster. He was absolutely going to play because injuries happen so this is a loss and I would have liked him to be on the roster. That said, I can completely understand wanting a more certain opportunity and/or better compensation.

None of these players are irreplaceable either from the portal or from young players in the program.

All of them might as well be irreplaceable until they are actually replaced, which you and others like to doogishly pretend is a foregone conclusion. To assume that while UW can't afford to keep it's own important, fringe starters, like Finau, it can afford to buy equal or better replacements from the marketplace, seems like a pretty assumption to me.

I assume being able to pay guys who don't really play is a big difference between the kind of haves and really haves now. If we're talking ranking the best UW OL who would have been on the UW roster for 2026 had no one portalled probably would have been:

With the current players expected to return UW is at six guys who would feel right for a rotation.

    1. Mills 2. Azzopardi 3. L. Hatchett 4. Taulealea 5. Greene 6. G. Hatchett

That's putting a lot on a true freshman and really lacks depth if anyone gets hurt.

There is a chance that Paki was waiting to see what would happen with Azzopardi, who recently announced he was coming back. Mills could have started at RT had Azzopardi left and then Paki would start at LG. But with Azzopardi at RT, Mills will again start at LG.

But of course, we don't know what has gone on behind the scenes and I would be very happy if even one of Paki, Butler, or Mohammed came back.

Assuming a true freshman is going to be better than Mohammed is a pretty big leap. He could, but planning on that is pretty risky.

Yeah a 3 headed monster of Mohammed, Washington, and Bonner would have been ideal.

We'll see if they go after someone who is also a thumper like Mohammed or if they roll with McMahan. IIRC, McMahan was a recruit who had very good balance and vision and pretty good speed / acceleration but who wasn't a run-you-over type of RB who would punish you (even though he's listed at 6'2" 225 lbs on the roster).

IMO your starting OL next season

    LT: Kodi Greene

    LG: Mills

    C: Landon

    RG: Champ

    RT: Ass Party

Bonner was a Top 4 or 5 RB recruit in the nation … far better pedigree than Mohammad

UW has a history of freshman playing at RB and doing just fine

    I'll take the upside
