Washington State Democrats meet in secret to plot an income tax

Actually, Oregon’s 9.9% rate kicks in at below $1 million so you could never pay more in Washington under the current proposal than you do in Oregon.
-
So no one will pay anything more but it will raise revenue

By the way why didn't the 9 billion in new taxes they just passed do the trick?
-
That’s the whole game right there. $2b revenue gap 10 months into the new budget that included a bunch of new taxes. @BleachedAnusDawg and I were calling this out in like June when they knew they has a problem.

Is Ferguson going to show us where the cuts are? I mean that is what responsible do right?
-
It's also odd how the defenders of democracy gloss over the fact that an income tax is unconstitutional in Washington and that has not been repealed by the voters
No Kins no longer a thing?

The obvious answer is obvious
But keep telling us it’s because infrastructure hasn’t been maintained and ferry boats need updating. -
It's a little late in the game for you girls to claim reverence for past decisions by appellate courts. It is very debatable whether the Washington Constitution bans income taxes—that's why 5-4 decisions happen.

Another citizen of a ruby red state that has an income tax weighs in.

The math isn't that complicated.
You would have to make over $2 million a year to pay more state income tax under this proposal than you would pay on that same income in Idaho, Montana, or Georgia. And you can't possibly pay more state income tax under this proposal than you would in Oregon.
So try to hold your annual income under $2 million, Race. Can you do that?
