Hardcore Husky Podcast: The Fisch Era has jumped the Shark

We've scored I think 14 points in the last 6 first quarters.
Totally unacceptable. Getting behind the 8 ball like that every game is a huge part of why we keep struggling

Redacted last sentence:
"Boastfully sit in the first seat behind first class. You'll be a loser for life."
-
You don't think he's the guy, but you also don't want him fired?

should have went more Jim Harbaugh against them and used a few O-Linemen as tight ends
he should have already hired in some capacity Ikaika Malloe

I can't believe I didn't get a Perrier with Electrolytes shout out from @DerekJohnson at the start of the pod.
Agree with @joey about being strangely at peace with Fisch probably not being the guy. Beating UCLA and Oregon might change my mind.

Everyone would be thinking Fisch is the guy if next year is a playoff appearance. Nobody gave a fuck about 2014 and 2015 when Pete made the final 4 in 2016. By 2019 many were sick of Petersen.
I’m sure many Clemson fans would be happy if Dabo was forced out and he’s won two titles and had a couple other runner ups. Alabama wanted Deboer gone two months ago, but now are thinking natty.
The week to week dramatics are what make college football great. Every loss is the end of the world.

I was frustrated with the slow progress with Pete in Year 1 and 2, but that guy came into the role with about as good of resume as possible. And by the end of year 2 you could see the vision taking hold with optimism going into Year 3.
Fisch isn't the same proven commodity and has some Sarkish vibes at times. If we finish 7-5 (4-5) - which is still very much on the table - this would be pretty disappointing and not a lot of optimism heading in year 3.
As much as we liked to shit talk @RaceBannon on Year 1 DeBoer, I think it would have been silly for Alabama to not give the guy, at least, 2 full seasons to get his reads down. His pre Bammer resume merited it.

You make good points.
But I have seen absolutely nothing in the 22 games Fisch has coached at UW that scream big improvement. His offense is still retarded. He can’t win games on the road that he should. His teams continue to look unprepared—even after byes, which is unforgivable. On top of all that, he’s an idiot at playing the “how to get an extension” game.
I’ve seen more than enough.

It's a much different time in college football than 10 years ago. We joke about needing more Tim but we were all good with giving Petersen 3-4 years, especially because there were talent/experience gaps those first two years you couldn't do anything about back then.
I am a recorded negadoog but I thought Pete would clearly be the guy in 2015 if he got that team to even just a bowl, and he did.
Fisch in absolutely no way had the leverage to publicly come off like he was flirting with another job or even strong-arming an extension at this point with what he has done at Washington. Then when you go out and lose an embarrassing game, well here we are.
Plus, his calling card is the weakness of the team and lacking improvement year over year.
