Fuck it. Give me Wilcox.
He’s the anti-Judd

Eck you, Eck me, Eck everybody.

Eck off

So you want to win on the road and lose at home now?
-
Only if Rolovich comes with him. Wonder how that's gonna play with Pat Chud here to check his vax card.
-
Wilcox is mediocre. He would be a white flag hire.
-
To be honest , Wilcox and Smith as OC wouldn’t be bad
-
Eck wears a visor, although he is fat. I’m torn.
-
The only mustard you'll ever see on Eck is from the 14 brats he inhaled at a booster gathering washed down by a dozen Miller High Lifes.
-
It would be terrible. Smith was a horrible OC. Nothing would get me less excited.
-
if UW is smart this is the guy.
But alas.
-
I'd be worried about food security with both Eck and F3 living in Seattle.
-
We? know whomever UWAD hire is going to be mediocre.
At this point, hiring @WhiskeyDawg would be an upgrade.
-
Patty Chins leading a coaching search for UW is downright scarier than Bobby Fergs proclaiming he won’t be allowed to hire the next football coach @ UW, for the good of the party…
-
Isn't Chun's record Rolovich and then Dickert?
That is pretty good.

Berkeley “home” vs Montlake “home” a little different, but yeah.🤔

You read my mind. I woke up talking myself into Wilcox. He at least would have been a better hire than Judd and would have taken the job. Here's my pitch:
-His teams always play tuff and hard (the anti Judd)
-He tends to have his teams get up for big games/better opponents and pull upsets. After Sark, Petermen and now Fisch we have had coaches for 15 years that never win games against better teams (and still get upset in embarrassing situations).
-He seems to have found the ability to have an offense.
-He could possibly bring the QB with him instead of that guy going to Oregon
-
Wilcox is probably the one realistic hire that you could make where the drop in your roster level year to year is mitigated the most …
- Wilcox likely will be able to bring players from Cal including a QB that could replace Demond's likely departure
- With West Coast ties he's likely familiar with the balance of our recruits and roster allowing some level of salvaging some attrition that you may not have with other hires
I'd agree that Wilcox isn't exciting but it's probably the safest most realistic hire that UW could make that could ensure a fairly high floor. He's also familiar with UW and knows what he's getting into.
Eck may be a coach that has a higher ceiling but he's not bringing anything with his current roster that is going to mitigate the roster attrition. You're likely going to have a roster that is at best 2024 and likely worse. You're almost assuredly going to have a 2-3 year rebuild at minimum. Any expectation that UW is suddenly going to get aggressive at throwing money at the problem via the portal is misguided as history has shown that our propensity for spending in the portal is at its highest when our ceiling is the highest. To say that he'd be a risky hire would be an understatement. High upside. High risk.

Wilcox has a history of offensive AIDS. He’s burned through what, Four OC’s in his tenure? Harsin is his OC right now and I’m not excited about having Petersens offense back on Montlake. If Judd is gone I do hope the next guy, whomever that may be, keeps Walters. He would still be under contract at UW and has familial ties to the region.
