Proof giving Williams a shot might be worth it

1999, ASU at Autzen, AJ Feeley has been tremendous but he injures his throwing arm and is just struggling. HoF Mike decides to go with this young kid named Harrington that has shown some promise. Well, he goes on to lead the team to a 25-3 record with three bowl wins.

2008, Coach Peterman decides the smart money is to take out Oregon's QB, so they do. HoF Mike doesn't learn from the previous time until the game is a blow out and he put in a young Darron Thomas who almost leads the team to a miraculous win. 2009 Darron watches a bowling ball of a Polynesian lose a Rose Bowl and says "Fuck that!" He goes home, smokes it all and goes 24-3 in two seasons with a Rose Bowl win allowing all of us to finally pop off.

2012 there is rumors of another Polynesian kid coming off the bench that could give Darron Thomas a run for his money. Most fans, me included, scoff at this notion. Darron makes a very poor decision and leaves for the AFL. Well, this quiet stick figure of a QB is 29-4 so far as a starter with at least six more games to go.

Does Miley Cyrus look like he's got 25-3, 24-3, or 29-4 capability? Would could giving the backup a chance hurt? TSIO.

It's also worth noting that Williams passed Lindquist on the depth chart earlier this month according to Smith.

For those who think he's still the turnover machine that we saw in the spring and during fall camp, it appears as though he's impressed the coaches enough to be behind Miles.

TSIO, exactly. Miles has a noodle arm, that isn't going to change.
Our upside going forward is significantly higher with Williams at the helm, if he throws a few picks at first, who cares?
I do think Peterman should be held to a standard, however he isn't going to get fired after 1 year, not even if we lose out.
If Williams doesn't work out either. See what you have with KJCS, and then Browning.
Miles is probably the worst pure thrower of the football in the conference

Assuming that Williams may be starting in 2015 he should definitely get more reps going forward.. A couple of int's just mean he's actually trying to throw the ball down the field instead of at the sidelines.

Reading between the lines earlier in the season, Williams had the most talent but his decision making wasn't there yet. The coaches looked at this team and realized that they lacked explosion, but with a good defense, field position and turnovers would be huge. They gave the guy(s) that they felt could protect the ball and give them a chance to prove that they could run with it. They couldn't. In the meantime, Williams has probably improved his decision making a bit (as you'd expect from a young QB). As that has progressed, the difference between him and the other QBs would have shrunk and given Miles' performance, hard to not believe that that there would be too many opposed to a change if one was made.

I think most of this QB discussion is centered around a couple of issues. 1. most think Williams with a little experience is the better QB, yet Miles is serviceable in most contests we have this year. 2. Oregon has a way of bringing reality slamming into our chests.

As it stands, our two losses are from two teams we lost to last season. And like last year, the Stanford game was fairly close. Oregon boat raced us again and this is not new.

AZ State demolished us last year, I think we lose to them again but not in the same fashion. Miles can't beat them.

We then have a winnable game against Mora and his clowns and a Coug and Buffs win. Which takes us to 8 wins. Utah will probably beat us and Arizona will be iffy.

I think it would be worth the gamble to dump Miles and go with Williams, we can win these games i listed with either. We might win another if Williams is what he could be.

Swap Utah for the Mighty Beavers... we don't play Utah this year.

I have no idea what's going on now. Petersen could be sticking with Miles for a half against ASU to give him one last shot or he could be using this as a smokescreen against Graham and will start Williams.

Miles has "concussion like symptoms" ...

So who knows what is going to happen ... either way it will be interesting.

Williams making bad decisions in the long run is infinitely better than Miles making no decisions

This describes it perfectly. Miles is the most indecisive QB I have ever seen.

By all means, play Williams. TSIO. But i don't think the QB of the future is even on the roster.

It sure would explain the Superbowl incident.
