The Mariners are Going to the World Series
I’m Putting down some dough on this, [i’m going to wait until they lose tomorrow] but just realized that the Mariners are the best team in the American League right now and have the momentum.
I don’t like the bullpen particularly, the pitching rotation has not been great, Woo is now a question mark, and the ACEs have been struggling and have looked like head cases for much of the season, Wilson seems to not have much timing with when to pull guys off the mound and when to leave them in, but this offense is clutch right now and the rest of the AL is flawed.
The mariners are now favored to rep the AL by odds makers as well so I’m not the only crazy person, it just feels that way.

I'm usually not in favor of a bye as teams seem to come out stagnant. I think the Ms could really use it though wsoecially the staff. Brash and Munoz are tired. It would be huge if they can hang on to this position. Thats when I'll start mooging for real.

I’m with you, Chuck. I don’t like the bye for teams that are hot, but if they can get it, I will take it due to the pen sitch…I’ve been living on the twatters the last two days looking for Woo news…IF Woo is healthy (relatively), Miller can be the stopper to get to Brash / Muni going forward…

Yep there are plenty of reasons they can use the rest, but most centwr around the pitchers. Gilbert, Munoz and Brash are all down in their velocity. They have yet to figure out how/if theyre going to use Hancock. Miller can use an uptick in velocity if hes going to come out of the pen, and he could use some time to prep for that. Woo is injured and can hopefully rest his way back to full readiness.
Thats a lot. Definitely want that bye. With any luck they can sweep Colorado and secure it, then rest some position guys for the last series too.

The last few games against the Dodgers will turn out to be key for what could turn out to be the home field advantage in the World Series if that is what happens so this will be a balls out finish for all of our key guys ~ no rest for the weary trying to secure at least the 2 seed and the better season record vs the NL.

I think a lot of it depends on Woo being ok. He was their best starter this year and was rolling until the last game he had to leave early.
If they end up facing Toronto and T-Mobile is filled with 50% Toronto fans I will probably lose my shit.

100% of the tim, the Blue Jays will fill up Safeco 50% of the tim.
(It will always be Safeco to me)

That was an ugly game to sit through.
Magic #s for the division and (I think) the #2 seed are 1.
Woo is missing his last start as a precaution/rest, but will be full go for the playoffs.

I forgot another important notable in the notes above. Cal purposefully said "fuck" in his postgame interview with Mantink. It was live on the Root/MLB Tv broadcast.

It was awesome
