I think I've come around to the idea of starting Kirby with Castillo in reserve. If Kirby sucks ass you can replace him early with the seasoned veteran who has been lights out lately and the damage is limited to two or three runs, at worst.
If Castillo were to start and have a rough 2-3 innings, I think turning it over to Kirby would be much more of a gamble and the team's psyche would be iffy.
