Customer Service

Well I don't know about the women on your apps, but I can say that as a guy who grew up in a raging alcoholic household, I've just never had any desire to drink at all. And while I have a number of faults, nobody would call me boring.

It's funny that a couple days ago I was going to start a customer service thread but decided not to because it might be misinterpreted or whatever. But last summer I started a subscription to Golf Digest, and have only received 3 of the 10-11 issues I was supposed to receive. Given that I follow Tom Saguto Golf on YouTube, I wasn't really getting much value out of the magazine anyway, so I decided to cancel. So far I have called and left a voice message, emailed customer service and called again. No response. And I know that I am going to be rebilled.
Then a few days ago I received a notice in the mail that apparently my employer had deposited some money in an HSA account for me that I didn't know I had. I am on a payment program for my last remaining medical expenses from the surgery last fall. The amount in the account would cover a big majority of the remaining debt. So far I have emailed and called and emailed again, and haven't gotten a response. And I'm just kind of like, "What happened to customer service in this country?"

Having met you, I'm 100% positive you're an asset to your company in public relations.

I don’t get too worked up at the front end of a meal. If a place is busy, usually the Throbber cuts them a little slack.
What absolutely blows my mind though is how fucking long it takes servers to deliver and collect the bill. If I was a restaurant manager that would be the single biggest emphasis. The meal is over, get the money and turn the fucking table over. Instead the server fucks around and dilly dallys, eventually saunters over to deliver the bill, then disappears again, then eventually comes back only to disappear again to run the credit card. Stupid and slow process. Nothing will melt a tip for me faster than paying taking 5 minutes or more.
Fortunately my local go to bar/restaurant has invested in hand helds which saves a shit ton of tim.

The distortions to society that covid and the response caused are still being realized to this day

Obviously an alcoholic should cut out the drinking. As for me when it came to the dating pool, it’s a compatibility thing with regards to enjoying drinks. Same reason while I’d never marry a vegetarian. Medium rare steaks on date night and cab that drinks like merlot or GTFO.

You and them are not the same. I think you can also tell the difference between people who don't drink because they were affected by alcoholism or even someone who is a recovering addict and someone who is just doing it because they're no fun or because they've probably connected it to white privilege or something. Thankfully my girlfriend is a borderline alcoholic.

"Thankfully my girlfriend is a borderline alcoholic."
A late entry contestant for slogan of the year
-
It would fit on a glass no?
-
Usually I select these slogans but this year I might have to put it to a vote. This is going to be the last year for beer goblets, the final one. I've got a handful of slogans but might have to throw it to the people. I'm scheduled to order glasses, magnets and shipping materials by mid June.
