Customer Service
This is mostly food related so I feel like this is where I'm putting it. Is anyone else noticing this? It's gotten so bad sometimes I legit just leave places I intended purchasing food/drinks at. I generally think of the city version of this, but there's also a (possibly unrelated and older) Woolley/rural version where if you aren't the 4.5 losers who hang out at this bar and drink three Rainiers and spend $13 over 10 hours they hate you too.

The trend down with alcohol and alot of other factors make breweries/restaurants pretty tough to work at and you forget the customer service aspect of it, especially if your establishment has a brewery aspect to it where getting kegs out the door is more important than what's going on in the tap room or restaurant.
Breweries, like tech, ballooned with covid and then they didn't anticipate that college age kids nowadays aren't acting like college aged kids from our generation. Even if they were, it's really expensive now relative to college kid fuck around money.
I know weed owners and tap room owners and the weed owners are still flourishing and the tap room owners are somewhat panicking and pivoting to non alcohol options.

I'm not a "nobody wants to work anymore" guy like my dad who won't acknowledge how shitty working service jobs is in most ways these days and am a hate small talk and any interaction semi autistic fuck but the two cent lowest level of acknowledgement is 10x easier than creating some sort of weird you're not there game of chicken.
The Woolley version includes person sits down at a table and no one comes over for 18 minutes so you go up and ask then they're mad saying someone was gonna come over and again all it took was a three word acknowledgement or two to avoid all that.

I’m pretty good at customer service, have been for a long time and can tell you that the industry standards I was taught 20 years ago are melting. It doesn’t help that every third customer checking out is having a loud conversation with someone else on their phone. It’s a two way street.

Sitting down with my brother in law, mother, sister, has resulted in numerous situations where we're pissed that it took 10 minutes later for a first beer, and the bartender/manager is blamed in almost all of those situations.

The alcohol trend down is shit AF. How are young people supposed to pair up and start making babies without alcohol as social lubricant? We're gonna end up a nation of childless cat ladies and cat dudes over this.

This is gonna sound way rapier than intended but when I got single I dated a few women on apps who didn't drink and it was hard as shit. A massive percentage of them on apps say they don't drink.

Deal breaker for me personally.

It's also not just the literal fact that they don't drink alcohol that's the problem it's that it's also a tell that they don't really like to cut loose and have a good time and can't just do something in moderation and enjoy it.
