As much as I talk shit about the structure of medicine and what it may or may not impose on the populace, there is still a ton of reason to have immense gratitude for it.
Last night, I checked myself into the ER. This morning I woke up without a gallbladder. There is still a ton of pain, but it should go away shortly. Furthermore, the pain meds available are in of themselves a lifesaver. Diluadid and Toradol FTW.
Hopefully back to ‘normal’ living by the end of the weekend.

Also, from the believe it or not file, I successfully declined the ‘mandatory’ Covid tests prior to admission then prior to surgery at Overlake. I’ll take even small wins when I can get them.

Diluadid is wonderful stuff. Just plugs you up real bad. I didn’t shit for like 10 days once during my diluadid junkie phase.
When I had an appendectomy I think I used a couple of percocet or something similar, then just went with ibuprofen after that. Didn't really hurt at all when just laying in bed for a week with an occasional roll out of bed to take a leak. My favorite guy was the anesthesiologist. He did his job very well.
