As we now know, the left is scamming billions. BO bailed out his buddy at solyndra with 500 million only to have them go tits up 18 months later. His buddy got out whole with zero debt and a lot wealthier. One can only imagine how much of a kickback BO got on that one.
Now we have another BO green boondoggle. Another unsecured loan to more of his buddies. This one was for a whopping 1.6 billion bucks in 2011 for useless green energy. Now they are going out of business.
The left is so corrupt.
A major solar power plant project that was granted over a billion dollars in federal loans is on the road to closure, with energy experts blasting the project as a "boondoggle" that harmed the environment.
In 2011, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) under former President Barack Obama issued $1.6 billion in loan guarantees to finance the Ivanpah Solar Power Facility, a green energy project that consists of three solar concentrating thermal power plants in California.
The facility was touted by then-Secretary of Energy Ernest Moniz as an "example of how America is becoming a world leader in solar energy." But after 10 years, the federally funded plant is now on track to close.

Buddy of mine works on this thing. He laughs about what a piece of shit it is and how all it's internals are fucked.
Elon claims a massive solar field in Texas could power the entire country. Don't remember the exact dimensions but it wasn't all that large.
Assuming that's with proper cost controls, engineering and oversight.
None of which the government is able to enforce - or intentionally chooses not to in able to run their money laundering operation.
That would be FS. Consolidating all of our power generating capabilities into one, easy-to-hit target. Elon generally is a smart guy, but dumb idea.
This is news to me. Haven't seen any specs but doesn't seem possible or economic. It would have to be HUGE.
