Just like open borders, just a few years ago major dems wanted a secure border. Same with government spending accountability. Now they don't. Perfect example of why we need term limits. Hell, once upon a time McConnell was an actual conservative. Then they all get co-opted. No longer a Senator from Kentucky but just one of 60 or so Senators representing DC and the deep state.
