Please provide evidence of airlines and the ATC making "DEI" hires for years. Please provide statistical evidence of there being more aircraft incidents since whatever make believe DEI programs you think exist were initiated. Or even an NTSB report where a contributing cause of an incident/accident was
Aviation safety requires objective evaluation of competency for any operational role. The system breaks down without that. The industry has definitely tried to expand the overall hiring pool in the past 2 decades simply to help the labor force. That's not DEI because if you're not qualified you're not gonna get hired. There has been no lessening of expectations; if anything they have gotten stricter in order to continue to improve the safety margins of the industry.

Look I'd like to keep it classy too and I like having new blood here. But for informational purposes, and I am not an expert in either DEI or ATC but this is where this comes from. Bonchie is red state never Trumper at heart and generally reasonable. No idea if this is true but we are down ATC and it didn't happen 8 days ago. This is a free space to discuss shit including unconfirmed reports of Jewish Space Lasers. Its a tragedy but sometimes we laugh in the face of death as a coping mechanism

When you are promoted based on how many lesbians and POC that you hire versus job performance only a leftard would think that actual job performance will improve. You can pretend that ATC wouldn't be affected by hiring based on sexual preference, trans status and POC but that's what leftards feel. United's CEO promised to hire pilots based on DEI and that was a big deal here on the Tug. Safety was a secondary concern.

Do we really need to additionally prove how both federal agencies and the military were using DEI as criteria for hiring?
My company is STILL using it in critical infrastructure hiring. Imagine how de-prioritizing hiring 60% of the population affects an already difficult qualified labor shortage.
You can claim it doesn't affect standards. You can claim it wasn't a contributing factor in THIS incident. To claim it isn't happening and never did at all is wild.
