Looks like they may have shut down the wrong engine; hence the rush to put it down in the opposite direction. Classic case of shutting down the good engine when you're trying to secure the one that's damaged.
Reverse thrust has to be manually actuated, after landing, by the pilot flying. Spoilers will come out automatically, if armed. Same with autobrakes, but it was a moot point here with the gear not extended.
In any case, seems like there was a lot of panic with this crew and they just wanted to put the plane down. If they made themselves into a glider, then I guess I understand the panic.
I want to know why the #2 (right) engine thrust reverse cowl slid back and not the #1 (left). Was it a result of scraping on the ground or did the pilot flying deploy it at less than 10' RA?

Seams the pilots fucked up this one.... no flaps or gear and trying to land mid runway.... they had no chance.

Still doesn't explain lack of landing gear and zero flaps.
Auto reverse thrusters kick in when gear is down which would have slowed the plane down considerably.

Yup sadly pilot error killed all those people in a 100% survival crash
Blancolirio update
100% survival crash? I'd pay good money and submit myself to a little whiplash for that experience.
I watched this last night. Coincidentally, Stalin DM'ed sent it to me this morning. Figured I'd add it to this thread.
Yes the birds trike was 100% survivable... pilots fucked up
Didn't watch much - but you got to think doing a Miracle on the Hudson landing on shallow water is preferable to belly skidding across pavement.
@Goduckies
Man I can't even bank 100% survivability when I'm walking to the mailbox.
Well, that's your problem
Where you see problems, I see opportunity.
Well, this is not exactly going to help the investigation.
Yeah missing fdr data is a big red flag...
