Biden Commutes Death Row inmates

When you’ve had more than 200 people cleared of the crime while awaiting execution, you have to know that speeding executions will simply result in killing more people wrongfully. And we do know we have executed people wrongfully.

”Kill innocent babies, but let actual murderers live!”

I say keep them all alive because, unlike you, I’m consistent.

None of the presidential commutations were about prosecution or jury error. Pretty easy to statutorily change the evidence level in death penalty cases to no doubt versus reasonable doubt. The illegal alien that just burned an innocent American citizen to death should be dead within six months. When a dem who opposes the death penalty and supports releasing hardened criminals into the civilian environment when he/her says the following, you know they are lying. Why is Major Hasan still alive? We won World War II faster than he got convicted for offing 13 fellow soldiers and wounding 30 others. You think the dazzler going to say that prior error is at play in this one?

Today Biden announced that he had set aside the death sentences of 37 federal inmates who had been convicted by juries, sentenced by judges, upheld by appellate courts, all pursuant to statute passed by both houses of Congress. Here is the full text of Biden’s announcement:

I’ve dedicated my career to reducing violent crime and ensuring a fair and effective justice system.

Today, I am commuting the sentences of 37 of the 40 individuals on federal death row to life sentences without the possibility of parole. These commutations are consistent with the moratorium my Administration has imposed on federal executions, in cases other than terrorism and hate-motivated mass murder.

Make no mistake: I condemn these murderers, grieve for the victims of their despicable acts, and ache for all the families who have suffered unimaginable and irreparable loss.

But guided by my conscience and my experience as a public defender, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Vice President, and now President, I am more convinced than ever that we must stop the use of the death penalty at the federal level. In good conscience, I cannot stand back and let a new administration resume executions that I halted.

If some here realized life in prison isn’t remotely like getting away with murder, perhaps they would be willing to reduce the risk of wrongful executions to zero.

Sounds like Race wants to expand the death penalty. And faster, damnit!
