How much revenue we? are missing out on after blowing it with DeBoer. I bet it eats up all the cost savings we got with JEB!

UW did all it could to keep him though, and he didn’t want to be here anyway!

    (Big sigh)

    This again.

I’ve always been on Team DeBoer-Was-Leaving-Anyway - he was never going to turn down BAMA, and I will die on that hill…

    BUT

The fact we? didn’t make a flashier offer made us? was pretty weak optics wise.

Hindsight is always 20-20 though. If DeBoer were still here and he got his big paycheck, we’d probably be screaming about how underperforming the team is.

Does anyone know what the actual offer made was?

Seems like Cignetti just signed for the numbers I heard mentioned that Debore wanted to wait on. What was the actual offer.

Midway through the 24 season for Debore you could actually say Cignetti had accomplished more when he got his offer than Debore had at that time. He had lost to Herm Edwards for fucks sake. Only the fact that Lanning and Sark to a lesser extent are retarded made him the commodity he is.

Yes, I would have loved if he stayed so don’t twist, but October of 24, was he worth more than an 8 mil offer. Did he get an 8 mil offer. Anyone know?

This time last year, Dannen was confident that DeBoer would sign the extension but from there, DeBoer kept coming up with reasons why he hadn't signed it (busy with game prep, busy with recruiting, busy getting ready for CFP, etc etc etc). One has to think Sexton had told DeBoer that Saban was going to retire so it would have been FS to sign it when keeping his options open was in DeBoer's best interests.

So the argument that if only UW had offered DeBoer $10 million off the bat instead of $8.5 or $9 rings hollow and isn't really rooted in the reality of the situation as it unfolded.

Regardless, we are where we are and it's better to focus on the players and coaches who are here than those who left for their own reasons.

The ‘23 season was about 2 things for the coaching staff and draft able players.

    1. Win Natty
    2. Cash in on success

DeBoers stock would have dropped after this season, he is not a recruiter, he wanted to get paid and go somewhere that recruits itself….Bama
    …and he didn’t love Seattle

So, I’m glad he’s gone(wdwha) we? Need a coach who wants to be in Seattle long term and is perfectly fine making 8mil/yr and…is a good recruiter. Don James had it, nobody else since has
