I have removed the Duck Refuge off of "Recent Discussions"

I have received multiple complaints now about the constant third grade in-fighting going on between two or three members. I am finding it tedious as well. I am hoping this helps, although the Refuge is being prevented from becoming what I hoped for a couple years ago. We will see if this move helps the overall experience of people just trying to enjoy the main board and other side boards.
I have always been dedicated to running a 99% free speech platform. But I also have to run this place like a sports bar. When a proverbial drunk guy is going around harassing people at their tables, etc. then I have to take that into consideration too.

I didn’t care about the playground infighting between the two or three people, but I’ve longed wished for this, so thank you, Derek.

I like a good online fued as much as the next guy. But I think at a certain point it jumps the shark and gets boring. Sometimes you gotta say it to someone’s face or let it go.
-
So which 7-11 should everyone meet at?
-
So proud to say I have no idea what this is about
-
I always thought a tailgate or bar meetup before a game with our feathered frens would be fun.

You must enjoy colonoscopies

As always - the 7-11 on Aurora in the UDistrict.

I live among these people. It’s fine.

Pin the Grinolds rules. Doooo it.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

the procedure wasn’t bad at all. It’s the prep that is pure crap. Literally!
-
Fern and Creeper? lol
Feel free to visit an actual Oregon board. With you guys being an exciting, dynamic national brand, there ought to be dozens

Agree with @YellowSnow - I work with a lot of Quooks. And yes, they’re fine…mostly.
-
@brents ? That you?

Many fine people?

A few observations:
- whining to the site founder "because he says things that make me mad" is embarrassing. things that wander into legally risky territory (posting the wrong pictures and links, accusations of others behaving illegally, etc.), is another matter. I happen to know for a fact that the feds can wind up monitoring sites like this for a time (usually in connection with someone having had their online credentials stolen), so people really do need to pay attention.
- it's a fair point with hijacking threads. I participate in another forum (on an unrelated topic) and it, too, is quite open and dedicated to free speech. you can post mostly whatever you want, but where the moderating comes in is to prevent people from hijacking threads. you're always free to start a new thread on that topic. seems reasonable.
- this forum is not an ethnic neighborhood. been saying that for years. it's someone's hobby board. not your house to be unwelcoming of others. it's his house. if he wants a duck sub-forum, that's that. if you really can't stand it, which I find laughable, then just don't fucking go over there. it's a straight-forward process of frustration management. I think some posters like to brandish their Husky bona-fides by expressing how much they hate Oregon any chance they get. those people will be unhappy if the duck forum disappears, despite what they might say to the contrary. go for the serious football chatter or have fun with it like @HuskyJW . or don't go at all.
I for one am ok with bob, haie and whomever going at it (again, w/in the obvious lines). just keep it in siloed threads. the adults here should be able to handle that.
