Went and saw the original last night on the silver screen. First time seeing it or any in the franchise. Not a horror guy.
That said, I was entertained. Fun to see movies from that era and how they were made. Now I understand the Halloween costume - never knew where it came from
Pretty epic cliff-hanger too, but I doubt i will engross myself in the rest of the franchise.

I was at a bar and a Halloween sequel was on. It was probably one of the most recent sequels and it looked kinda dumb.
Older movies are interesting for a couple reasons. First is the lack of CGI which can make for pure comedy or just a better movie. I also like seeing things you don’t see anymore. In The Graduate, Hoffman gets into the hotel room at the (Thanks) Taft Hotel and there’s an ashtray on the nightstand. And Mrs Nacho’s favorite is the pure sexism in movies from the 60s and early 70s.
Yes, very interesting. Without CGI those guys are trying anything artistically speaking to get the shot they want. For example the opening scene where they are trying to give the perceptual view from behind the little kid's mask - as if you were the child assassin.
The nostalgia is great. The reminder that you used to have to go to a pre-ordained spot in the house to talk on the telephone. That high school kids walked home from school even if old enough to drive.
