… and then you fire PaoPao. Ploog is his only right to a job. Between the special teams disaster and possibly losing yet another talented out of state TE prospect while at UW it’s all enough for me to move on. He’s a layup artist and he’s gotta go.
There's 4-5 reasons I suspect but why don't prospects now just take their visits then commit and sign? Fisch is probably a snake oil salesman but they all pretty much are and it just matters if you can win or not and what kind of money you have in NIL now.
I don’t think Ploog had any intention of flipping when he committed to us. I’ve heard he really likes UW and he understands that we have a great track record of getting TEs to the league. But at the end of the day Oregon’s staff is relentless (overzealous) and don’t respect boundaries. That, plus it’s hard to get kids to ignore the media hype. Did anyone else expect Oregon to be #1 at this point in the season? I sure as hell didn’t. A high schooler is going to choose to go to#1 team with $ over a multi year rebuild. Here’s to hoping for an upset in the big house or some other thing that crashes momentum and expectations.
Are they suppose to respect our commits boundaries and stop recruiting them? That is pretty funny.
It is where we are. We don't have money like the top tier schools. Probably not changing unless a billionaire husky fan manifests themself from the heavens.
Those that think revenue sharing will solve this are stuck on wishful thinking. That would only limit what the school can pay. Boosters and fans paying players are here to stay and that part is never going back.
yeah I do miss the good old days when a commitment was a commitment and it seemed like schools backed off but livelihoods are on the line with coaches and I don’t think they’re gonna stop out of like respect or something like that.
It’s the same shit as having to now hire coaches and hope they can poach their former players to replace the ones you lost when your coach left.
Uw has to go take someone committed to like Arizona or Cal or Minnesota and convince them it makes sense to flip to the school who had you third or fourth on their board. Super cool.
and unfortunately this might be why DeBoer took so many layups in recruiting so he wouldn’t be spending months sucking up to some kid and he just goes somewhere else anyways.
I think the Ducks expect him to flip this weekend, but I just got a text confident that the Ploog dawg commitment will survive through the weekend. Oregon is courting a kid committed to K state (Kure), so we may be able to hang on here if the cards fall right
so you’re telling me our options are Oregon gets a 5 star recruit or they steal one of our best recruits? Color me excited. The kid from Kansas should just go to his instate school. Be a man.

Flipping to Oregon this weekend

Disastrous if it happens given it’s a massive position of need

@GrundleStiltzkin is right. Never trust the Dutch.
fuck fish
fisch is a snake oil salesman. There’s a reason his stars at Arizona didn’t want to follow him and it wasn’t NIL (we would have matched or beaten)

Oregon has been after a couple of national recruits for a while at the TE position and not landed them. Ploog is their fallback plan it appears.

the ducks are heavily pursuing Ploog, Olesh, and Cure. they will take the first two that commit.
I've tried to tell yous, oh how I've tried.
