Keep Me From Being Chicken Little
I'm not alone in being in a bad place after Saturday's game and it's not just losing to the fucking Cuog. I think teams are going to be very fragile in this new rent a player world and we could easily be flirting with a 4-8 2021 like season. The Bruener injury isn't even just so much to me losing him but feeling like you're losing one of the guys who cares and feels like the kind of injury that happens in those cursed shitty seasons.
Feels like they just lost in Seattle to a team that would win 4-6 games in the old Pac-12 or current Big 10 and that's exactly what UW is and even winning six games is a challenge now that they lost this one.
Convince the sky isn't falling? Or is, I guess?

this is bad
Let’s take away the egregious coaching errors
we are a team full of carpetbaggers that seem to give very little effort. The lines are totally decimated and this will be years to recover.
We got fucked by NIL and transfer rule last year.
We had to do something. I totally get it. But this team sucks.@DerekJohnson let’s create an Idaho board. They’re going to win the natty.

Sorry, pal. I can't help.
I wrote off this season back in January and February. Too much trauma to the program and we were looking at 5 to 7 win season and anything more than this was excessive Dooging.
I'll wait until next year to fire Jedd.

Sky isn't falling. Can't win every apple cup for all eternity. It's a new coach. Breathe a little.
If this team is 4-8 that is a disgrace. Plenty of time to clean things up. Hopefully Bruener gets another year of eligibility and Parham plays well. The defense is good. Offense needs to man the fuck up, and Fisch needs to figure it out fast

They have 50ish new players and they still haven’t put it together yet. If fish is any good they will get better at the little things that cost UW the game on Saturday. False starts, offsides, face masks, stupid defensive holding penalties can be coached out of these guys, if again, the coaches are any good. The turn around at Arizona tells me they are a lot better at coaching and building a team than I saw on Saturday. If they don’t smoke NW this weekend then you may be right but I’ll give the players and staff a week to use this abortion of a game as motivation to right the ship. They outgained WSU and still had a first and goal with a chance to win the game after all the mistakes. Is 4-8 in play? Sure but I think 7-5 or 6-6 is more likely.

Imagine if DeBoer was breaking in 50ish new players in 2022.

I was hoping that it would be a limp dick 7-9 win season but it looks like a straight rebuild because the o line needs to combine some of the actual huff recruits with Jedd's own 2024 o line recruits and develop for another year.
It is what it is. This isn't a Jimmy Lake squad and I won't drag on with the aspects of his team that were just straight up broken on offense. This offense was just inherently un-clutch and it's on coaching that they went 0fer in all the critical plays and had to kick 4 field goals and turn it over on downs at the 2.
I do think that the B1G middle/lower teams still really, really lack where our offense doesn't: skill players and quarterback. We can still pass our way to a decent season if Fisch wakes up on his play calling.
And the defense is in decent shape. Still looking forward to conference play. I didn't really even have a bad time at the game and thought we were always going to pull it out and it was the 2023 Apple Cup 2.0. Just choked at the end.

Honestly bruener might not even be our best linebacker whenever he comes back. House looks awesome

Michigan is starting their running QB now, meaning we are fucked.
-
Mateer's got some coug legend stuff in him, he's doing a lot more than I've ever seen out of Michigan's QB.
Minshew's going to come back to Pullman soon and find out that his broken down school bus is no longer full of co-eds, they're all in the RV that the Coug NIL is supplying Mateer.

Mateer absolutely choked twice down the stretch and our offensive genius Fisch couldn't capitalize
