Yuuuuge win obviously for Riley, Cohen and USC. I didn't see the game. But I reached for my phone at about 9PM to check the score. I was thinking, "We live in such a topsy-turvy world, it would be fitting if USC beat LSU." Lo and behold, that was the case.

Of course, it could also be one of those deals where LSU gets knocked off and everyone thinks its huge, and then the Tigers finish the season 6-6. Just like USC in 2009.
As much as they're getting blown here, they only won by 7.
Was LSU supposed to be good this year or something?
C'mon man, "only won by 7", as if it was a shortcoming.
Might as well not even win the game
this is exactly what’s going to happen. It was an 8-4 team beating a 7-5 squad
Love em or hate em USC is the only west coast college football team that has regularly beaten upper echelon SEC teams.
Love the SEC but their fans can be a bit much with that SEC SEC SEC crapola. USC topping LSU was almost as enjoyable as Miami boat racing Florida in the swamp.
Exactly my thoughts. LIPO is my view.
This is (potentially) not your Father’s Saban/Orgeron LSU until they are.
But still ….
The other thing is, LSU has made a habit of late of losing openers. Like 5 years in a row now.
I think USC will give UW some trouble this year. Big dick QB.
who are these upper echelon teams usc has beaten? Auburn 20 years ago? Or are we talking about the 1960s
This. I watched the highlight, and that QB has huge nuts and his receivers are insane. Good RB, too. With all the offensive highlights from both sides, I was tempted to think it was yet another Lincoln Riley all-offense special, but the final score was confusingly low for both teams.
As for beating upper echelon teams, that was USC's first season opening win against a ranked team since 2003.
the changes to the clock rules and helmet comms are going to make a lot of games that would have been higher scoring in the past be lower scoring
As much as I despise SC and was initially rooting against them, I was quickly reminded of what an absolute chode Brian Kelly is. Glad the Big 10 got the win in this one
I agree with Finebaum this time. Brian Kelly is just decent there and they probably are middle of the SEC at best without Daniels.
Yay SC stopped someone from scoring 50 one time. Jury's still out on them as a conference contender imo
Plot twist: they both finish 6-6
