My doubts have more to do with his inability to get cleared. DeBoer, Inge and Morrel going out of their way to praise his efforts in practice. The “Free Durfee” tweet campaign from players as the year went on. The local media obsession with a kid that has played like 10 snaps for UW. He fucks up his elbow in spring, can’t compete fully in fall camp. The new staff seems less willing to heap expectations onto this kid. I get the feeling from the staffs comments that he doesn’t have football moves or IQ to complement his physical traits yet. It all screams disappointment. If he’s more than a JAG I’ll be pleasantly surprised. I’m more excited about Wayne and Ward. I hope Durf is good. Not holding my breath.
Do you have a link to the new staff's comments about his moves or IQ? He was the starting DE all spring until he was injured and, in the article above, he scrimmaged with the first team again opposite Ward.
Feel like I heard it in a press conference. Maybe the post spring one. I mean he’s only played a handful of games at Sioux Falls and a few snaps at UW. Not a ton of experience and little of it outside of a practice setting or D3. He might not be the most savvy player at this point of his career. That can improve and I hope it does but I just don’t see Durfee turning out to be Jared Verse.

I just get the feeling Durfee will join a long line of doog legends that never live up to the hype that everyone bestows upon them. Hope I’m wrong.
dude has been here for two years and we read about one scrimmage
He's only been eligible to play since January
